Blu-Ray version.......2007-05-12
Okay I am not going to bother reviewing the content as such, suffice to say that it is a futuristic idea of what the armed forces may look like.
The Blu-Ray version of this movie is definitely one to showcase this format the colour renditioning is superb and PQ is second to none. I would have given this 5 stars but I felt the audio, as is often the case with BD titles, let the production down. Not to say that it was bad but more that it could have been better.
spotty video.......2007-05-12
a fun popcorn movie with some memorable scenes, the blue-ray version offers some fine detail in many scenes but bad color in some.black levels are lacking though.a good movie for your ps3 if it's on sale.
This movie is terrible and blu-ray doesn't make it any better.......2007-02-02
I'm a huge fan of military aircraft, which is really the only reason I went to see it and, I'll admit, the airplanes were cool and they really stand out on an HD TV, (not to mention that Jessica Biel is really hot in a flight suit) but the story and acting is so bad, and much of it utterly pointless, that I was almost sick to my stomach after watching it. I just don't understand how these writers get a job in the first place. The only conclusion I've been able to come to is that their names are drawn from hats, but I just don't know. Like I said, the planes are really cool, but PLEASE spare yourself two hours and find some clips/pics of the planes online and be happy with that. Avoid this movie at all costs!
Stealth never looked this good!.......2007-01-12
Let me just put this simply: 3D!
I tested this BD on my PS3 via component cables to my 29" CRT TV, back to back with the DVD version. The result was very obvious. Although I didn't really see anything incredible when I played the BD, I was thoroughly suprised when I switched back to the DVD. I was asking where did all the colours go. I was asking why everything were so flat. I was asking if this is the power to BD. The contrast gave you a sense of depth to the picture, making everything 'pop-out' from the screen. The clarity were awesome and there were no artifacts anywere. The weakness? It looked so good that it looks fake. Welcome to the digital edge where everything is super-enhanced and nothing is organic anymore.
On the sound front, the Dolby Digital track was exactly the same as the one on the DVD. The PS3 doesn't support PCM 5.1 via optical, so I couldn't test the Uncompressed PCM track.
Other than that, there's nothing much to the BD. I only bought it because I wanted a title to compliment my X-Men III, which is good on sound, but bad on picture. Stealth is the title to test out BD picture quality if you ever needed one.
Poor Quality for a HD disc.......2006-11-26
I own this movie both in Blu-ray and in non-HD DVD format. On a Samsung Blu-ray player the quality is about the same between these two formats. Save yourself some money and go with the regular format.

Featuring the best special effects that money can buy and a screenplay that any six-year-old could follow, Stealth is a pure action thriller that starts fast and never slows down. Moving up from The Fast and the Furious and xXx, director Rob Cohen proves himself as a master of popcorn entertainment for teenagers, turning this derivative military sci-fi action thriller into a dazzling showcase for impressive aerial action sequences, featuring digital effects and highly detailed model work (by James Cameron's Digital Domain effects company, among others) that are so realistic you could swear the movie's high-tech aircraft are absolutely real. The plot serves the effects (it should be the other way around), and it's a cheesy hybrid of Top Gun, The Right Stuff, Firefox and Behind Enemy Lines, in which a close-knit trio of Naval Air Force aces (Josh Lucas, Jessica Biel, and Jamie Foxx) pilot state-of-the-art "Talon" fighter-bombers, ready to scramble on orders from their not-entirely trustworthy commander (Sam Shepard). They're teamed up with an ultra-high-tech UCAV (Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle) nicknamed "EDI," an artificially intelligent fighter drone that's as erratically dangerous (after its circuitry is damaged by lightning) as it is deadly effective. With a standard third-act rescue mission amidst the threat of global warfare, Stealth is brainless entertainment from start to finish, but the aerial action and epic-scale pyrotechnics ensure that it's never, ever boring. Cohen may be guilty of dumbing down his recycled plots for mass appeal, but there's no denying his skills as an action auteur. Move over, Michael Bay, you've got serious competition. --Jeff Shannon

Such a waste.......2007-06-12
Boy talk about unfulfilled potential. This movie was it. A good cast wasted and a good idea put into a brainless plot. Sam Shepard made a good effort as always but he could not save this movie. Jamie Foxx also was doing a good up until he got killed in such a way you had to see it coming long before it happened. Let's see, what can I do that I know I shouldn't that will undoubtedly result in my death? Then he does it. Paleeeeze. Jessica Biel gets shot by the high powered rifle of a sniper then manages to cross 5 miles of rugged terrain to get rescued. There is nooooo way. Anyway, if you just want to watch some kind of cool aerial acrobatics done on computers, this is an okay film. Forget the plot, forget the acting. Do that and you can tolerate this one, although it had the potential to be so much more.
One of my hubby's favs.......2007-04-26
I give it a 4, because my husband absolutely loves this movie and I find it tolerable. I liked it the first couple of times I watched it, but after 2 or 3...not so well.
Eye Candy.......2007-03-18
I think the reviewer "girldiver" got it right ... this movie is visually enjoyable for people who like hot airplanes and cute people. If you're looking for profound story, OK, this sort of movie isn't about that. It's a cartoon for adults, it knows that, and it delivers on that score.
Why I liked it? I'm a big fan of Jessica Beil and I'm personally delighted by the "fun" tach she's taken with her career. "Cute girls doing cool things in sexy outfits" may not be the path to cinematic greatness ... but I suspect it will make her popular and rich, and that's not all bad. I decided I wanted to see this movie when I saw the preview in the theater and got a glimpse of Jessica in a bikini and a sky filled with crazy fast jets. While I certainly would have enjoyed MORE Jessica in a bikini, this movie was quite satisfying as the grown up cartoon I hoped it would be.
My wish for a next "Jessica and Jets" adult cartoon? Bikini clad pilot babe teaches the boys how to fly in 2020's new hottest sport, the world wide micro-jet racing circuit. :)
Agree and disagree with others........ worth seeing(:.......2007-03-11
Well, have to start out with the most important thing here.... I STRONGLY disagree with the reviewer that said Josh Lucas isn't THAT cute, because he MOST CERTAINLY IS....LOL For Heaven's sake, he's adorable.....that sly smile and those blue eyes, oh my gosh I don't know how ANYONE could think he 'isn't that cute' it's almost not even a matter of opinion..... the guy is hot!!)
Okay, on to the movie.... It was on cable, I saw Josh was in it, the story looked like it might be fairly decent, so I watched it (figured if it was too boring, I could just watch Josh the whole time......hehehe) I'm sure I'm not alone in that I haven't forgotten his charming, blue-eyed, adorable self in 'Sweet Home Alabama'. So, I watched it, and to my surprise, found myself quite entertained.......even enough so to want to add the dvd to my stash for future 'Josh viewings'. hehehe.
Anyway...... on to the poor Jessica Biel. She is a beautiful girl, and yes, I agree with the reviewer who said they gave her a lousy script. I thought Josh did a fine job with his supposed 'underlying sexual tension' (when he walked away from her at the table when they were in Thailand, with his adorable smile when he said goodbye, but after he turned away, without saying a word, you could tell right there how hard it had been for him to walk away), and was his ever-charming self...... regardless of what lines he had (although I don't think he can help it, he just exudes sexual tension naturally!) His character was supposed to be cocky and charming and a hottie..... and I think he pulled off all three. But, although I like Jessica, they really gave her some shoddy lines, though I thought she did well in the scenes where she was scrambling for the border, when she didn't have any lines......LOL): Too bad...... they really could have made a hotter pair when it came to 'underlying sexual tension' than they turned out to be (writer missed a big opportunity on that one....... two of the hottest actors in hollywood, and I don't blame the actors.... that was all in the writing), but still, I enjoyed it, but mostly because of Josh, and the great flying scenes (though I'm not an expert, so I can't pick apart any of those, as they seemed perfectly great to me!) I have to admit, sometimes it is a bit annoying when 'professional' aviators, and such decide to pick apart decent action movies. I mean, come on....... they aren't all meant to be documetaries, they are action films, and to create action films, you can't always pull off amazing scenes AND be perfectly accurate technically...... I just don't think it is possible. Reminds me of another movie that I LOVED, but if I remember correctly, there were some 'specialists' who picked it apart..... it was 'Behind Enemy Lines' and I thought it was a great action movie, from start to finish, and I LOVED the finish, with Wilson running and jumping off that cliff, shots being fired at him from all over the place....jumping, and having that guy on the end of the long line from the.....dare I say Black Hawk (not positive on the type of air craft, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong...LOL) grab him....(and I don't care how implausible it was, it was still awesome!).
Anyway, sorry for the rambling. Final analysis, check "Stealth" out. It's at least worth a rental, and as I said, I think I just might add it to my own collection simply for the Josh Lucas value(: Yes, I'm obviously female........LOL
Oh yeah, and it wasn't as predictable as many of these types of movies are..... I was quite surprised at how the ending played out...... and.... SPOILER HERE****** so, don't read this part if you haven't seen the movie, and don't want to hear anything about the ending!!!
I have to say, near the end, I LOVED that Josh's character goes back for Lt. Wade, I just loved that, though I know realistically, it would be impossible to just 'find' her like that, I don't care, I still loved it. The one thing I wish they had done differently here is that when he was helping Jessica's character to run to the border, as injured and exhausted as she HAD to have been at that point (heck, she probably deserved a little kiss right here too.....LOL, though I guess they didn't have time for such romance!), I would have liked to see him helping her along for part of the way, but then scooping her up and carrying her the final few yards(: THAT would have been more romantic, and let's face it, the girl could certainly have used a bit of a lift from the man she so obviously loved, right? And, we deserved to see a bit of tenderness from our hero, right?) Also, I would have liked to see her in sick bay or something, before the funeral scene. As I said, she had to have been injured, after that fall through the trees and scrambling through the hills, and getting shot and all....... so, a short scene with "Ben" visiting her in sick bay (or whatever it is called on a ship), showing his concern for her would have been touching. Then at last, my final gripe (not really a gripe, just my own personal rewrite of the script, that's all!) The final scene should have gone on just a bit longer. It cut short, right after Jessica's last line (which by the way, was the only line she had that I thought was decent (and funny...... well, it made me laugh a bit), I would have liked to see a bit more reaction from Josh...... I don't know, maybe even a big long, passionate kiss as the camara panned away from the ship....... yes, I liked his cute little smile after she said what she said, but I wanted to see him DO something about it, FINALLY!! LOL Oh well, maybe there is an alternate ending on the DVD........ hmmmm....... now, if it includes a kiss SOMEWHERE, it really might be worth picking it up! Really, am I the only one that thinks they needed a kiss at the end? Predictable it would have been...yes, but after all of that 'sexual tension' that either did or didn't really play out, I thought we deserved a kiss..... okay, maybe not a long, passionate one, maybe just a sweet, soft one would have been more appropriate(: While I liked the look he had on his face after she said her 'last line', I didn't like that they cut the movie right there, and rolled the credits. Wanted just a bit more at the end...... that's all. Then again, I'm usually wanting a bit more Josh Lucas(: hehehe.
Okay, done with my own private ramblings....... sorry if I was too long-winded, please forgive?
Oh, almost forgot.... one last thing (another spoiler here****) Jamie Foxx had a decent performance as well..... he added some personality to the movie (loved the scene where he was in his...... room? Is it called a room on a ship? Anyway, when he was 'studying' the info they had been given about the EDI thingamobob. That scene made me laugh, and showed a lot of his personality early on). He was funny, had a good character, and unfortunately had to be the one to die..... that part was sad. I guess there had to be a sad part though, and that was it. Foxx did a nice job in the movie though, and I didn't mean to leave him out of my way too long review(:
Whatever - Spoiler Warning!.......2007-02-27

ICE T FIZZLES.......2005-03-24
I have yet to see how Ice T keeps getting roles in movies. He is such a bad actor, and he has no screen presence. Yet he keeps cropping up in inane movies like this one. This time he's a traitorous pilot who fakes his own death so he can resurface working for some drug or munitions lord and steal a stealth fighter to accomplish assassinations for the criminal. He is tracked by his former co-pilot, a straight arrow guy whose marriage is floundering because he spends too much time at work? Come on, ladies..you marry a military man, you expect this. Having recently seen HOT SHOTS 1 & 2, this is the kind of movie those gems spoofed; this would have been better had it been a spoof. Aside from Ice T's stony performance, we get Wishmaster's Andrew Divoff with some kind of phony accent; Costas Mandylor huffing and puffing his way through his standard role; Erika Eleniak pouting in her few scenes as Costas' estranged wife; and funniest of all, Ghostbusters' Ernie Hudson as the President of the United States.
It's all tastelessly dull and routine, and I give it two stars only because I finished watching it.
Hey, what do you want anyway?.......2005-03-15
We have a competition to see who can find the worst movie. Then we watch it with a group of guys and call it "Men's Stupid Movie Night." This movie qualified, as do all of the movies by this director. It was pretty entertaining if viewed from that point of view. Bad dialogue, an incomprehensible plot, innappropriate and ultra cheesy sets, lousy "acting", stolen footage from other movies, no regard of military protocol, uniforms, weapons systems, and anything that resembles a real military situation. Since we invite our sons, we actually look for clean movies to mock, and this is full of gratuitous bad language, such as the scene where Ice T unloads a barrage of F-Bomb flak at the President of the United States. As Ice T states so succinctly, "What a wasthte!" I could not agree more.
TYPICAL ACTION FILM; 1.5 STARS.......2004-09-14
AN AIR FORCE PILOT [ICE-T] FAKES HIS OWN DEATH ONLY TO RESURFACE AS THE PARTNER OF A DEADLY LATIN AMERICAN ARMS DEALER [ANDREW DIVOFF]. WHEN A STEALTH GETS STOLEN AND IT'S USED TO TARGET THE MILITARY, IT'S UP TO ONE MAN [COSTAS MANDYLOR] TO STOP HIM BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. ONE THING THAT CAN'T BE DENIED IS THAT THIS MOVIE IS BORING. THE ACTION IS NOT WORTH WATCHING, THE SCRIPT IS DUMB, AND THE STORY JUST GETS TIRING AFTER A WHILE. ERNIE HUDSON'S ACTING TALENTS ARE ONCE AGAIN WASTED IN ANOTHER LOW-RENT DIRECT-TO-VIDEO FILM. IF YOU LIKE ICE-T AND WANNA SEE ONE OF HIS MORE RECENT FILMS, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND RENT OR BUY ''OUT KOLD''.
Pretty laughable.......2004-05-07
Better-than-average special affects can't save the fact this movie doesn't even try in some other areas.
Ice-T plays an ex-pilot turned rogue helping a cartel leader ransom world leaders with a powerful satellite system, and a powerful stealth plane. An old friend of his is chosen to lead a military unit to stop his old friend (gee, THAT plotline hasn't been used before).
The "Rangers" they send to stop Ice-T are some of the worst Rangers I've seen on screen. They looked more like Cuban soldiers, and I have to wonder if they just said, "Hey guys we're making a movie, come dressed in whatever military gear you got." I've never gone to Ranger school, but I seriously doubt they train a "Stand Out in the Open and Get Shot Doctrine."
And what the hell was with the Saddam Hussein clone? He barely served any purpose to the plot...except to appear and get blown up. A guy with a mustache, pork belly, and beret isn't going to draw laughter from the audience?
Absolute Genius!.......2001-10-28
Picture the scene...
Saddam Hussein (apparently French judging by his accent) goes to Thailand to purchase a case of machine guns... personally. To celebrate cliching the deal the devout muslim pours a glass of vodka for his Thai warlord friend and swigs from the bottle himself uttering one of the classic lines of modern cinema... 'A toast!'. He then stumbles on to the veranda of the hut to be nuked by Ice-T in a sttthhtealth (sic) fighter. We laughed for hours! OK so the film is terrible but that one scene makes this a work of absolute genius!
Here is 'a toast' to the inspired direction and sparkling performance by 'Saddam' he diserves an Oscar!! Perhaps the CIA could replace the real Saddam with the star of this film. No one would be able to tell the difference!

Description
In the aftermath of World War II, the Soviet Union and America helped themselves to a treasure trove of Nazi technology. Out of these spoils came two very similar jets--the MiG 15 and the F-86. But the MiG came first, and its effectiveness shocked the unsuspecting West and threatened to turn the tide of the undeclared air war over the Cold War battleground of Korea.MiG-15: RUSSIAN STEALTH reveals how the Soviets combined domestic ingenuity and "borrowed" European technology to produce this legendary fighter. Veterans of the very first jet versus jet dogfights reveal what it was like to fly the MiG in combat conditions, while Soviet archival film documents these once-secret engagements.Travel back to the dawn of the jet age for a fascinating look at the plane that panicked the West.
