Customer Reviews:
One of those Must See Movies 4.5 Stars.......2007-04-20
The Quality seems to start out a bit rough, however as the movie progresses it gets just fine.
Now the synopsis.
Wow, This has got to be one of the funniest Kung Fu movies I have ever seen. And I have been seeing Martial Arts films all of my life. Training since age 3. This movie has it all, Humor, villains, funny guys, the plot is pretty good as well. I love the Paddle technique. And the villain is very fast. I have to admit though the closing of this film is so cool, funny weird, it is a must see film. I mean you have got to see this film. Its that funny, and that good.

5 stars all the way!.......2006-07-14
This movie is more like a 4.5, but the ending easily gives it a kugn fu 5.
Now the movie is done by one of my favorite directors, Chin Ku Lu. He has also done classics like Broken Oath and Secret Service of the Imperial Court.
Now the movie starts VERY oddly with a kid being accused of rape, he is like "yeah, so, what are you gonna do to me," Only thing is that like EVERYBODY in this flick can fight. His master played by an unbelievable crane master fights the kid. So anyway, the kid gets a kung fu instructor hired for him. So the kid, Dragon, meets his teacher, the great Jason Pai Paio. He proves to be a very capable and tough teacher. Dragon's other master I guess is Lee tso nan, the great director. He has an awesome fight with Hwagn Jang Lee. Now there is a guy with an iron hand who is going around beating up at the school that kicked him out. Only thign is, is that his master is Hwang Jang Lee. EEK! So when he goes to beat people down, you better make sure you can beat him, and his master. We don't get a great story explaining why Hwang needs revenge, but who cares, the action is awesome. Nto quite Shaolin vs, Lama good, btu still awesome. And the comedy was great too. I laughed HARD a few times. So next the guy with the hand takes out the school that Dragon is at. A tough match for him, but Hwang with the laughable, yet mythical hell'z windstaff, it is over. He takes out the crane guy and Jason Pai Paio. Dragon and his friend Tiger (hoi Meng) barely escape and go to train with kickmaster Yeong mun-kwon. For a low budget movie, these are some of the best training sequences I have ever seen. The stick work and acrobatics are amazing.
So it all leads up to the final fight and with a comic book ending, it is one of the only times I didn't have an ADD fit when it does end. I like fights to go on as long as possible and yet still make it look somewhat believable. With 3 people for Hwang to jump off of and kick repeatedly, this was defintiely a movie made just for me.
Also action directors are some of teh best you will ever find in the movie business. Corey Yuen(Ninja in the Draogn's Den, Charlie's angels), Shun Yee Yuen (Chief Fox), and Hsia Hsu (the stick king).
I have this as part of the wu tang 20 pack. Picture is full screened and the quality is watchable, SO WATCH IT!!!!
Old "Skool" Kung Fu!!.......2006-07-11
After checking out this flick, I felt the 5 star rating by a previous reviewer is grossly overrated, and profoundely exaggerated. I have many flicks with the great Kwan Jang Lee,,,and believe me, this is nothing close to his talent!! Yes,,there is no question this is an o.k flick. The choreography and cinematography is well put together. However, almost all copies of the Dvd transfer is remarkably poor. It's unfortunate watching this flick with such poor picture and sound quality,, but definately a flick to have as part of the collection!!
Superb, Unique, and Humorous Fighting Style.......2003-03-12
Not everyone will be able to handle a ridiculous Old School Kung Fu movie like this, but for those you who have a sense of humor and want to see Kung Fu moves brazed in gold Hell's Wind Staff will leave you thunderstruck. I have watched this movie many times. This is my favorite old school Kung Fu Movie. Many fighting styles shown in the movie are completely original. For example: Paddle Staff Technique, a fight over a live chicken, and a training sequence that would put a New York breakdancer to shame. It is pretty long, but it is the kind of movie that you don't have to pay attention to, to enjoy. If you can't take the heat, just make sure you watch the end, because the last fight scene's "Finishing Move" is absolutely jaw dropping.
