Zonk is cast as Sgt. Bronsky (a jew?)
Det. in here with dumbo partner that
are trying to keep up with ex-Marine
'Snakeeater' Lamas as he goes after
bad guys. With roles like this, it's
no wonder Lamas is M.I.A. these days!
Funny bit with Zonk relieving himself
in coffee cup, putting lid down on it
giving it to wino, who begs $$ for cup
of joe. Zonk tells him; "Here friend,
have mine." Near end of movie, Zonk
gets him again, but this time the
vagrant tells him, "No, you can't fool
me again. This time I want sugar to put
in it!" Those are about the biggest lafs
in this lame movie. But it was Zonk's
1st movie role. Zonk has much better
role in OLN Series, 'Larry Csonka's
North To Alaska', with ex-Jacksonville
Bull mate, Audrey Bradshaw. Pls. don't
ask who the Jax Bulls were. Remember
the United States Football League and
check your ESPN Classic schedule! R.A.S

Worth Seeing for inventive Tie-up........2005-07-12

Okay movie. nothing special. Effects are hokey, acting is bad (new jersey accents from canadian cops). But as for a certain scene with Lorenzo Lamas and Josie Bell hanging from a tree bagged-and-gagged (in which ropes obviously move around) Well, worth a few laughs or two.

An amazing amalgam of actors in their prime and a tight, well-balanced script makes for one of the best action movies ever. Lorenzo Lamas stars as "Soldier:" a head-case, former Special Forces cop who lives by his own rules. When his world crumbles around him, Soldier retreats to the only law he knows: his own. The action scenes are amazing, and the plot keeps you guessing from minute to minute. Filmed in the spectacular Canadian Eastern Wilderness, "SNAKEEATER" or "SNAKE-EATER" is a wonderful romp through the underbelly of human emotion and desire. Is there any greater commitment than love? Also not to be missed for the sake of hearing the beautiful and haunting title theme: "Soldier." "Soldier...where's your sister...." Another highlight is one of the Big Screen's greatest villains: The Dentist. Truly gorgeous. A hell of a lot better than "Kill Bill 2."

Who Needs Special Features When You Have BamBam Bigelow?.......2004-07-23

Yes, boys and girls, our old buddy Soldier is back, this time with a script BASED ON A BOOK ("Rafferty's Rules" by Glenn Duncan)! Whooo! Well, believe it or not, that book was based on an old episode of "Unsolved Mysteries" (I am not making this up). See, this hot, nubile young teenager (Tracy Cook) is abducted by a motorcycle gang and made into their sex-slave (that's the part from "Unsolved.."). But the parents aren't giving up. They decide to hire the craziest cop this side of San Francisco: Soldier Kelly, to hunt down and kill the bikers and bring back the daughter. Soldier takes the job and that's where Soldier runs smack-dab into BAM-BAM BIGELOW! He of the tatooed head and short temper. Remember when he kicked Ric Flair in the crotch at Wrestlemania 9? I always say the presence of a pro-wrestler in the cast is a sign of a true character-driven movie.

Anyway, Soldier tracks the guys down with his new sidekick (what happened to Speedboat?), the small, skinny and ineffective Cowboy (Minor Mustain). Lots of gunfights, cowardly traps inspired no-doubt by late-night readings of "Soldier of Fortune" magazine, and lots of NUDITY! Yes! Nudity is back and back in a big way in Snakeeater 3! The hot daughter is naked most of the film, as is the even sexier exotic dancer, Holly (Holly Chester). Oh, and even Soldier's girlfriend is naked! I'm naked, too! Bam-Bam Bigelow, however, is not naked, so that's good. Regardless, this is actually a darn good, shoot 'em up kind of movie where most of the good guys make it out in the end. Good, harmless fun. Except for the graphic violence. And the bad language. And the nudity. No Special Features so to speak, but lots of Special Forces. Ah, go ahead and BUY IT ALREADY!!!!

What the heck happened to Soldier?.......2005-01-12

It's hard not to give five stars to a movie that features a wheelchair fight on the roof of an insane asylum. Hard to do, but I'm going to be strong...

Snakeeater 2, a.k.a. "Snake Eater 2" varies wildly from the original Snakeeater movie that allowed Lorenzo Lamas to step out of the giant shadow cast by his father, the late, great Fernando (insert Abba joke here). Lamas is back as Soldier, with a LAST NAME this time, so now he's called Soldier Kelly. Seems Soldier is so gosh-darned crazy and in-your face (again) to his wimpy cop bosses (this was filmed in Canada, remember) that he ends up with the choice of either jail-time or an insane asylum for his ways. CAN'T YOU JUST ACCEPT HIM FOR WHO HE IS??? Anyway, Soldier ends up at the local nut-house, populated by some colorful characters who all just happen to be bad actors. Horshack from "Welcome Back..." makes a return appearance. Also, there's a Jim Baker televangelist clone in there. So, Soldier keeps breaking out to do his version of justice: rigging cowardly traps, killing people in cold blood, blowing up bathroom stalls, etc. AND this time he has a cool, urban sidekick named Speedboat (Larry B. Scott); a dude that looks like he got lost on the way to a Bell, Biv, DeVoe concert and ended up in this movie. Oh, that Speedboat, what with his witty lines and all.

Anyway, this movie is nowhere near as violent as the first and there's no nudity, so if you are hoping to see Speedboat's hot sister starkers, forget it. There are two reasons to see this: 1.) the afore-mentioned wheelchair fight on the roof of the nut-house and 2.) the way they kill the drug-runners...OK, and 3.) Speedboat's sister. That's about it. Harmless and somewhat fun drivel; great for watching at 3am while loaded.

DVD features are minimal; can be watched in both English and dubbed in French. Also has a small documentary of the Canadian production house that made the "Snakeeater Trilogy." Pretty cool opening menus with a neat motorcycle sound. VRRROOOM!
