As a pleasant dose of holiday cheer, The Holiday is a lovable love story with all the Christmas trimmings. In the capable hands of writer-director Nancy Meyers (making her first romantic comedy since Something's Gotta Give), it all begins when two successful yet unhappy women connect through a home-swapping website, and decide to trade houses for the Christmas holiday in a mutual effort to forget their man troubles. Iris (Kate Winslet) is a London-based journalist who lives in a picture-postcard cottage in Surrey, and Amanda (Cameron Diaz) owns a movie-trailer production company (leading her to cutely imagine most of her life as a "coming attraction") and lives in a posh mansion in Beverly Hills. Iris is heartbroken from unrequited love with a cad of a colleague (Rufus Sewell), and Amanda has just broken up with her cheating boyfriend (Edward Burns), so their home-swapping offers mutual downtime to reassess their love lives. This being a Nancy Meyers movie (where everything is fabulously decorated and romantic wish-fulfillment is virtually guaranteed), Amanda hooks up with Iris's charming brother Graham (Jude Law), and Iris is unexpectedly smitten with Miles (Jack Black), a super-nice film composer on the downside of a failing relationship. --Jeff Shannon

Customer Reviews:
Better than expected.......2007-07-03
I rented this movie online not expecting much. Too my surprise it was much better than I thought it would be.
love at first sight.......2007-07-03
There aren't too many movies that I watch and instantly fall in love with but it happened here. I saw the film, fell in love with story and the music, bought the score and had my sister join me for an encore performace... all in a single day! I'm a romantic at heart and this film was all about it. Not only that but every character was brilliantly used. From the adorable old man to the fiesty little children and of course the love story, this film is sure to touch your heart!
No Holiday.......2007-06-27
I own the movies Hitch, You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Prime - I am a professional chick flick-er. Jude Law, Jack Black are in some of my favorite films. In my opinion, Kate Winslet is one of the most talented young actresses out there. Therefore this film should've been a perfect film for someone such as me - the film had all the right ingredients but the wrong recipe. I was very disappointed with this film. I agree with the other reviewers that the plot of the movie is not so original and is quite predictable. However, most romantic comedies ARE predictable - but what makes the good romantic comedies good is the presentation and the deliverance of the story. This film failed very much in that department. I blame it highly on the script and the editing process. Even with such beautiful people as Jude Law and Cameron Diaz on the screen, the film drags and become unbearable as it progresses. I was very sad as they had such a great cast. And it was a huge disappointment from Nancy Meyers (whose previous film - What Women Want - I enjoyed immensely).
For the romantic!.......2007-06-25
Though not a heart-wrenching love story, The Holiday is a inspiration for the romantic at heart. It causes room for doubt, then offers hope. It's cute...not too deep but still romantic and playfully pleasant. I enjoyed it...have watched it twice. My 15 year old, however, said it was boring and not worth watching. I attribute that to age and the lack of ability to understand certain innuendos.
Other Reviews Super, Just Wnat to Give 5 Stars and Comment.......2007-06-24
This is a five-star movie. A special cachet is added by Eil Wallach as the elderly screenwriter.
I bought this to remind myself what romance was supposed to be like. I am hugely satisfied. Another keeper.

Riding the strange '50s nostalgia wave that swept through America during the late 1970s (caused by TV shows like Happy Days and films like American Graffiti), Grease became not only the word in 1978, but also a box-office smash and a cultural phenomenon. Twenty years later, this entertaining film adaptation of the Broadway musical received another successful theatrical release, which included visual remastering and a shiny new Dolby soundtrack. In this 2002 DVD release, Grease lovers can also now see it in the correct 2:35 to 1 Panavision aspect ratio, and see retrospective interviews with cast members and director Randal Kleiser. All these stylistic touches are essential to the film's success. Without the vibrant colors, unforgettably campy and catchy tunes (like "Greased Lightning," "Summer Nights," and "You're the One That I Want"), and fabulously choreographed, widescreen musical numbers, the film would have to rely on a silly, cliché-filled plot that we've seen hundreds of times. As it is, the episodic story about the romantic dilemmas experienced by a group of graduating high school seniors remains fresh, fun, and incredibly imaginative.
The young, animated cast also deserves a lot of credit, bringing chemistry and energy to otherwise bland material. John Travolta, straight from his success in Saturday Night Fever, knows his sexual star power and struts, swaggers, sings, and dances appropriately, while Olivia Newton-John's portrayal of virgin innocence is the only decent acting she's ever done. And then there's Stockard Channing, spouting sexual double-entendres as Rizzo, the bitchy, raunchy leader of the Pink Ladies, who steals the film from both of its stars. Ignore the sequel at all costs. --Dave McCoy
Description
John Travolta solidified his position as the most versatile and magnetic screen presence of the decade in this film version of the smash hit play Grease. Recording star Olivia Newton-John made her American film debut as Sandy, Travolta's naive love interest. The impressive supporting cast reads like a "who's who" in this quintessential musical about the fabulous '50s. Grease is not just a nostalgic look at a simpler decade--it's an energetic and exciting musical homage to the age of rock 'n' roll!

Molly Ringwald established herself as the teen queen of the '80s in this fresh comedy. The movie is a day in the life of Samantha, whose 16th birthday is turning out to be anything but sweet. All the traumas of teendom come down on one long day, which sees Samantha surrounded by dithery relatives, mooning over a high school hunk, and pursued by a sawed-off Lothario. Sixteen Candles marked the directing debut of John Hughes, and its goofy energy displayed a promising talent with a great ear for high school lingo ... a promise neglected since Hughes became, after Home Alone, a one-man entertainment industry. There are some pretty crass moments (Why the stereotype of the foreign-exchange student from Asia?), but Ringwald's steady appeal smoothes over the rough spots. As the pubescent, self-styled lady-killer, Anthony Michael Hall turns in a hilarious portrait of a young swinger; he and Ringwald would reteam with Hughes for The Breakfast Club, another key teen picture of the decade. --Robert Horton

Favorite movie.......2007-05-27
We had lost our copy of this movie and were so happy to get a new one. It is a great movie with laughs and tears.
EXCELLENT 80'S TEEN MOVIE!.......2007-04-11
This is one of my wife's favorite 80's teen movies. I am a fan, but it isn't as high on my list as hers. The film is very funny and Hall is hilarious as the geek. The DVD transfer is great and a worthy purchase.
Sixteen Candles with Molly Ringwald.......2007-04-11
This DVD was a gift and the recipient is very pleased.
Amazon's service was, as is the norm, just great. : )
A Tremendously Enjoyable And Heartwarming Early 1980s' Classic........2007-03-05
Though it often goes under the radar due to the enormous popularity of the similarly themed follow-up "The Breakfast Club", "Sixteen Candles" is just as good as its more volatile counterpart, representing a far more innocent but just as enjoyable representation of those awakward years we all go through.
Molly Ringwald plays Samantha Baker, a small town teenager anxiously awaiting her sixteenth birthday. Much to her disappointment, the overly obsessive detail gone into her older sister's wedding has made her birthday an oblivious occasion to the rest of her family. To make maters more complicated, Samantha is already going through many pubescent emotions, including a crush on the one boy she can't get to, Jake Ryan (Mike Schoeffling), who's under the grip of a blonde bimbo that he just can't seem to break. Even worse, the biggest nerd in school (a scene stealing Anthony Michael Hall), is desparate to win Samantha's affections, despite her having no interest in him wahtsoever.
This leads up to a tocuhing, funny and adorable conclusion. "Sixteen Candles" is a film that will delight all film viewrs, and is a film many people going through the period of life represented in the film can relate to. I recommend to all fans of 1980s' teen flicks as well as film in general.

Customer Reviews:
Great Production, but quite Catholic.......2007-07-01
I give this DVD a well deserved 4.5 stars. The production value is top-notch! The insite into three players (Piazza, Eckstien, Sweeny, and Suppan) ane two coachs (McKeon) are great. Brief appearences and comments by many other players. Excellent editing. Excellent use of showing the players and coaches are real humans who make mistakes, and are humbled by both those mistakes and thier faith.
I take one half-point for the DVD being soley focused on Catholic players. Nothing against Catholithism, I was raised Catholic myself and still have much respect for the Church. But the DVD description is silent on being Catholic focused, and excludes any serious focus on players who are non-Catholic Christians (Sid Bream, Gary Carter, Albert Puljos, John Olerud). I would have given it five stars if the packaged description was more specific.
I hope to use it in my Sunday School ministry, but being a non-Catholic, will have to skip some minor sections dealing with McKeon's devotion to a Saint.
I hope the producers of this DVD will make future productions on other sports. I will eagerly buy them, but I do hope a clearer description is provided.
Champions of Faith Review.......2007-06-27
This is a fabulous video! Major figures in baseball describe how their lives are enriched by living their faith. I bought this video to show the boy's youth group at my parish. I recommend it to anyone who wants to help young people (as well as older folks) form a strong faith connection. Champions of faith is a great video that counters the rhetoric that works to eliminate matters of faith from everyday life. This video has my highest recommendation.
We need real, human, heroes.......2007-05-16
I was blown away by this video. I was not sure what to expect. Baseball and Faith? I'm not a huge baseball fan (hubby is), but I do know many of these names listed on the video.
I was captivated. The hour flew by, and I was entranced. I loved every minute of this movie. Baseball stars - but you see them as real, struggling, human beings...the same as we all are. It was so easy to resonate with their stories - their ups and downs.
Kids need excellent role models and heroes to look up to. No need to look further than this video.
Adults need excellent reminders that we are all human, that we all fail, and that all that matters is our (struggling) faith in God. A thousand years from now, all that matters is our relationship with God today.
Talk about an excellent gift for Dads for Father's Day; for graduates from college, high school, middle school, ok - any age!
Never Watch a Baseball Game the Same Way Again.......2007-05-16
Get goosebumps!
We tend to compartmentalize our lives. We see sports as one thing, our faith as another, family stuff as another, our job as another, school as another and so on.
This video shows the integrity of professional athletes who are striving to live lives of faith as pro baseball players and connect the dots for us and our children. It doesn't pretend to make these men out as saints, but as men who "get it" and see that their sports performance is just one part of the big picture.
And it is well done. Not too heavy-handed or maudlin. Good for family viewing, for schools, for coaches, and even for Sunday School! Awesome.

Such a sweet movie!.......2007-05-07
This movie is so good and it looks great on blu-ray! Seriously a chick flick! Cameron Diaz is one of my favorite actresses and she really cracked me up in this movie. I am not usually a big fan of Jude Law, but he was sooooooooo sweet in this movie. A feel good movie!
The Holiday Blu Ray.......2007-05-07
The movie itself, is hilarious and entertaining. Watching it in BLU-RAY just brings it up another level! The picture clarity is so amazing is almost distracts from the movie. Highly recommend the movie and watching it in BLU RAY format!!!
A pleasurable "Holiday".......2007-04-11
A beautiful transfer of a delightful film to Blu-ray and DVD. This film brings a breath of fresh air to the movies after the intensity of the several Oscar nominated movies this year. The cast is absolutely perfect and beleivable in this romantic comedy which intentionally or not contrasts life situations of two couples during the Holiday season in London and California. I think everyone will mark this movie as one of their new holiday favorites. I did!

Millions wears its heart on its sleeve, and it wears it well. Two boys, still grieving the death of their mother, find themselves the unwitting benefactors of a bag of bank robbery loot in the week before the United Kingdom switches its official currency to the Euro. What's a kid to do? Director Danny Boyle takes a simple premise and, with the help of Frank Cottrell Boyce's sweet, smart script, finds something special to say about the hopes everyone has for the future of a changing world. Brothers Anthony and Damian have vastly different agendas for the stash, and then have to deal not only with the money's original thief but with the disarming woman who seems to be stealing their widowed father. The film is full of quirks that work--seven-year-old Damian (an endearing Alex Etel) has private conversations with a collection of eclectic religious saints--and a technically spirited way of commingling both the scary realities and fanciful imaginings of young minds. --Steve Wiecking

Our Mum's dead!.......2007-05-27
Millions (Danny Boyle, 2004)
I don't know what happened to Danny Boyle in 2002, but whatever it is, I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with it. I always avoided Boyle's films, save 28 Days Later..., because of my deep, abiding hatred for Trainspotting. Now, though, swayed by the critical acclaim (which is almost universal), I rented Millions to see if Boyle is, in fact, capable of making a decent comedy-drama. Surprise--he is.
Millions is the story of Damian (Alex Etel, in his first screen role), a kid who has a huge bag of cash fall--literally--into his lap a week before England converts to the Euro--so he's rich, for the sum total of a single week, unless he can find some way to change the money without being suspected of any wrongdoing or give it away to charity. His materialistic brother is all for the former option, while Damian, who's obsessed with Christianity and often sees (and converses with) the saints of antiquity, likes the latter idea. Unfortunately, he doesn't think too hard about it, and one particular sizeable donation draws the attention of Dorothy (Daisy Donovan), who finds herself both intrigued by the charitable nature of Damian, and attracted to his recently-widowed father (James Nesbitt). The four of them, and a cast of neurotic minor characters, count down the week to Euroization, but the original owners of the bag of money haven't forgotten about it...
While it's not as out-and-out hilarious as one might expect from such a ludicrous premise, it does fire on enough cylinders to make it well worth watching. The plot is crazy enough to keep everything moving, and the characters are as believable as possible given their unbelievable situations. (This rule is waived for some of the minor characters who exist in the film just for laughs--the Mormon collective at the end of the street, for example--but even those characters are at least consistently funny.)
Surprisingly good. *** ½
It's lovely.......2007-05-10
That's all I wanted to say: "It's lovely". More? This, "Saving Grace", "Driving Lessons" and many others. Gentle, British films that entertain without the sugary syrup of America's movies.
A Wonderful, Heartwarming Family Film.......2007-03-21
Young Damian (Alex Etel) and his investment-minded brother, Anthony, miss their recently deceased mother very badly. So does their father. With that in mind, Damian and Anthony's dad moves them out of their old home and into a new one hoping to exorcise any painful memories. Once moved in, Damian sets up a cardboard house along the railroad tracks where he can escape into his own little world. While playing one day, a bag full of money literally falls on top of Damian's world. He shares his good fortune with Anthony who immediately begins to strategize on how to invest the money wisely. Unfortunately for the duo, the money will be useless in just a few days whenever the UK converts all of its money into Euros. Damian, being a very, very devout Christian, decides to give the money to the poor because he believes that it is a gift from God. Anthony, worried about things such as exchange and interest rates, tries to spend as much of his money on himself and stash some of it away in investments such as real estate.
Of course, this wasn't a gift from God. It was just one sack of a number of sacks of money strategically stolen and hidden by bank robbers. One of them was supposed to pick up the bag that young Damian found, and quickly begins to follow the young boy in order to get his money back. All of this is done without Damian's father knowing about this until one day at school, Damian makes a rather large contribution to a fund for poor children. The lady who is collecting the donations (Daisy Donovan), falls not only for the boy's giving heart but for his father as well.
As the story unfolds, Damian, Anthony, their dad and his new girlfriend struggle over what to do with the money. All the while Damian is getting advice from Catholic Saints who visit him throughout the film.
What happens to the money? Does the criminal ever catch up to Damian? You'll have to watch to find out. As another reviewer stated, this film does start out a tad bit slow but it soon picks up to a very nice pace. I don't recall any major curse words in the film. There is a little bit of peril, though, that might scare a few youngsters. Still, this is a wonderful film to watch with your entire family. After watching it, I'm sure that it will trigger many questions and comments from all observers.
It's a cute and heartwarming tale that is sure to please everyone in the family. I highly recommend it.
you're either a giver or a spender.......2007-03-20
*Millions* was an interesting movie about money falling "from the sky" and seeing how people react with money.
The movie takes place in England. The family of three (a father and his 2 sons) move out of a house to a new place. They're all grieving for the wife/mother in their own way.
Damian is an imaginative young boy, who has no problem entertaining himself. He carries imaginary conversations with notable Christian saints. Anthony is the older brother who puts on this tough look.
One day, a large bag of money falls on top of Damian's play fort, which Damian notifies Anthony. They both decide to keep hush about the money. However, they both have different approaches of how to spend the money. Damian gives money to whomever needs it the most, especially to those he perceives as poor. Meanwhile, Anthony is tight with money by spending it only on himself or on things that will increase values.
However, there are 2 things going on as well. Britain will be converting their pounds to euros. So, pounds must either be spent or deposited to bank accounts within a few days. Otherwise, the pounds will no longer be valid. Another thing is that someone else wants that bag of money. The robber gets a hold of Damian and threatens him. Damian is scared and agrees to comply with the robber's demands.
However, the money becomes overwhelming for the boys. They get their dad involved as well as his new girlfriend.
*Millions* is a wonderful movie about how people react to a large sum of money. Of course, there are other sub-stories in this movie. If you're a softie, there is one part of the movie that'll make you cry. Just have that Kleenex ready...

As the popular fantasy-adventure Fullmetal Alchemist continues, Edward Elrich uses his wits, as well as his professional skills, to give a corrupt military officer a well-deserved comeuppance. Based on the story "The Mining Town" in the first collection of Hiromu Arakawa's original manga, this adventure proves that "Be Thou for the People" isn't just a motto for the Elrich Brothers. The citizens of the played-out gold rush town of Xenotime refuse to accept Edward and Alphonse for who they are because two strangers have assumed their identities. Both pairs of brothers learn and teach valuable lessons as they defeat a murderous land baron who's after the Philosopher's Stone. Every episode of this winning series delivers what the viewers want: adventure, magic, slapstick, and Edward's inevitable rants about his diminutive stature. But Fullmetal Alchemist also delivers something that's become rare in American and Japanese animation: heart. (Rated TV PG: violence, minor risqué humor, alcohol and tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

Not the best episodes..........2007-06-13
In my opinion, the episodes in this cd barely moved the plot along, but I watched them nonetheless. Don't get me wrong, I love the series, but I didn't believe that the stories contained in this compilation met the requirements of the plot as I had hoped...
Best of the best.......2007-02-06
I am not a spring chicken, so I get introduced to anime through my daughter. Some of it is fluffy love stories or improbable characters or situations that appear from nowhere to solve the day. Full Metal is none of these. The characters are believable even when they are a talking metal suit of armor. Ed and Al are young boys. Their mother dies. They desparately want her back. They do something forbidden. They pay. And they learn what the costs are. The world is a confusing place. They navigate, sometimes on their own and sometimes with people who they meet along the way. Not everyone is who they seem at the start. Finally they confront the costs of their and other peoples violations of the rules. Through the story there is humor and growth. The story is told from their point of view. They do not give in to the tragedies that surround them and keep fighting for the truth and for each other. I highly recommend this series for young teens and old fogies (that's me). Much better than most things available for teens these days. I rank this up with Dante and Faust as literature about pacts made by people not understanding the full consequences of their actions fighting to restore the balance of their lives.
Back to the Future.......2006-06-12
With all the major elements of the Elric Brother's past explored, this volume goes back to where it left off in the first couple episode of the Fullmetal Alchemist series. The brothers are searching once again for the Philosopher's Stone, this time following clues that lead them into troublesome situations. After the first episode on this DVD, which is the last of the "past" episodes, the brothers find themselves in a city hunting a thief that advertises her crimes. After that, the brothers face a second pair of Elric brothers who are refining magical stones from red water in the hopes to duplicate the effect of the Philosopher's Stone.
Yes, I will say that the story slowed somewhat in this, but that had to have been expected considering the fast-paced beginning of this series. In fact, looking back, I think the slower pace was somewhat welcome. It allowed for the series to lighten up a little and give the viewers a chance to take a breather and just enjoy the goings-on of the Elric Brothers. Besides, it still has the excellent animation and music to back up the slowing plot. And though it slowed, I'm fairly sure that it will pick up sooner or later (my guess would be sooner, since I've already taken a peek at volume four).
I'm startled myself by how hooked I now am by this series. The first volume didn't catch my attention the way it probably should have, mainly do to my own skepticism. But now that I've given FMA the chance it deserves, I'm loving every second I spend watching this series, and I feel confident saying that FMA is definitely one of the better anime out at this point in time.
red water, miners, and.... food poisoning?.......2005-11-28
yeah, that's right, in the episode "The Phantom Theif", Ed gets food poisoning, which leads to some very funny dialogue (I'll turn you all into fish). These are, given, not the most mind blowing episodes of Full Metal Alchemist, but even if they scream filler episodes on the outside, they aren't, really. The first episode on this disc, "Be Thou for The People" introduces Lyra and Yoki, who, in turn, are essential characters in the series. "The Phantom Theif", the second episode, is very light hearted and VERY funny, even if it's not very important to the story. The only important line in this episode was "go to the city of Xenotime." In the last two episodes on the disc, "the Other brothers Elric, pt.1-2", Ed and Al do go to Xenotime and there they learn some important factors on the creation of the Philosopher's stone, and gain a new friend and rival. These episodes great, even though the outer exterior of them doesn't show us so.
Every Fullmetal.......2005-10-03
every fullmetal alchemist dvd is worth it's weight in gold, even if the plot or episode is a bit off. if you really love FMA then you would over look it and just enjoy it. Every opportunity to watch FMA is the greatest gift to me.

When the Western slipped into theatrical oblivion in the late 1970s, many of the best examples of the genre began appearing as made-for-television films. After the success of The Sacketts, from the Louis L'Amour novel, producers quickly reunited stars Tom Selleck and Sam Elliott in another fine adaptation of a L'Amour book, The Shadow Riders. As brothers Mac and Dal Traven, sporting blue and gray uniforms, respectively, they wind their way home at the close of the Civil War to discover a band of confederate rebels have ravaged their town and kidnapped their sisters and brother and Dal's feisty sweetheart (Katharine Ross). With the help of their outlaw uncle (Western stalwart Ben Johnson), whom they must break out of prison, they track the guerrillas to the Gulf Coast and down into Mexico for a final, fatal showdown. Veteran director Andrew McLaglen sets this TV movie on a loping pace and a jovial tone, defined largely by Selleck's easygoing performance and the jocular comic relief of rascally Johnson. Elliott provides the intensity, at times positively ferocious under his heavy brows and burning, sunken eyes. The mood is occasionally too comic, but McLaglen delivers the goods in a series of gritty action sequences, proving that old Western directors don't die, they just drift on over to the small screen. Western icons R.G. Armstrong and Harry Carey Jr. and 1950s leading lady Jane Greer also appear in key roles. --Sean Axmaker

1865 The Civil War is Over..or is it?.......2007-02-09
This movie was made in 1982 and based on Louis L'Amour's novel by the same name.It is now 25 years later and still excellent entertainment. This western is done much like those great ones we loved so much starring John Wayne. It has a good, fast moving storyline with a teriffic cast portraying strong characters. It is a straight forward saga ,stays focused and the viewer has only one thing to do---just sit back and enjoy it. Where this western is quite different is that it takes place at the very end of the Civil War when soldiers are returning home. This was a particularly difficult time because circumstances often set brother against brother, and relative against relative. You can't get more personal than this, where one brother wears the Gray and the other the Blue as they get together to make things right after others try to carry out revenge after the war.
Too bad this movie doesn't really follow the book - sad!!!.......2007-01-20
Howdy,
After I read the book "The Shadow Riders" from Louis L'Amour I had to have this movie.
But what a disappointment!
Only about 30% of the movie content follows the book.
I will never understand how these movie makers destroy good stories.
I love watching western movies and I collect them (have abt. 100 now).
In this movie most of the characters act like they are having fun with
everything. Not once did I see the real concern about those kidnapped
people. The whole thing just looks to clean and like a Sunday picnic.
Why the hell did they have to bust out Happy Jack Traven (Black Jack) of
jail? Instead of adding dubios action scenes, they should have just stuck
with the book and we would be able to see a 5 star movie. Too bad!!!
I gave two stars, because I love Ben Johnson and Tom Selleck.

This is an excellent western film. You should consider watching it for Ben Johnson's role, alone. Mr. Johnson is a great western film actor, and his role as "Uncle Jack" is superb. If you enjoy western genre, I suggest you consider adding this film to your collection. The team of Tom Selleck, Sam Elliott, and Jeff Osterhage is an excellent mix. I hope Hollywood will take advantage of this talented team and put these guys together again soon. Buy the DVD; you won't be disappointed.
Modern Westerns.......2006-05-23
The day of John Wayne, James Stewart, Gregory Peck, Henry Fonda, and the rest is gone. They made Westerns when there were still people alive who knew what the old west was really like and gave them pointers. When Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot made a few Westerns several years ago, they may not be quite up to the standards of classics like the "Magnificent Seven", "High Noon", and "Hondo" but I personally think they are excellent and a far cry better than any other Westerns made in the last 20 years. The cast even includes a few old timers from the classic Westerns like Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr. which is a real treat since they have still got what it takes to create a great character. With the upcoming release of "The Sacketts" you have all the more reason to view it and this as they go together like a set. I recommend purchasing them both and "The Last Stand at Saber River", "Crossfire Trail", and "Conagher". All excellent modern Westerns with Tom Selleck and/or Sam Elliot.
Above average shoot-em-up!.......2005-10-14
While away fighting the Civil War (Tom Sellick for the Union and Sam Elliot for the Confederacy), Sam's wife (Catherine Ross) and family are kidnapped by Confederate Raiders intent on selling them in Mexico to finance their ongoing war. Tom & Sam are reunited and off to the rescue! Good, above average western with some funny scenes, some drama, and lots of good old fashioned shooting the bad guys!
