Description
Miramax Home Entertainment presents STEAL, the electrifying crime thriller starring Stephen Dorff ("Cold Creek Manor," "Blade") and sexy Natasha Henstridge ("The Whole Ten Yards," "Species"). Slim (Dorff) is a charismatic thief leading a notorious team of adrenaline junkies who utilize their extreme sports skills to escape capture. Under pressure from the mob and a crooked cop who wants a piece of the action, they set out on one final set of high-risk heists that could net them a fortune. But what Slim doesn't know is that his beautiful new girlfriend (Henstridge) is a detective whose job is to bring down his gang. Loaded with high-octane stunts, STEAL is an extreme movie thriller that shouldn't be missed. Also known as "Riders."

Description

Ex-World War II pilot Frank Enley (Van Heflin) is a respected contractor and family man. Then his troubled, gimp-legged bombardier (Robert Ryan) shows up with a gun and a score to settle. Perhaps neither man is what he seems to be as director Fred Zinnemann (The Day of the Jackal) guides a searing Act of Violence, "the first postwar noir to take a challenging look at the ethics of men in combat" (Eddie Muller, Dark City: The Lost World of Film Noir). Murder lives on Mystery Street. John Sturges (The Great Escape) directs a revealing-for-the-era procedural about a Boston cop (Ricardo Montalban) solving a whodunit with the help of a Harvard forsensic expert (Bruce Bennett). Welcome to CSI Noir.

5 out of 5 stars 10 lesser-known but excellent Film Noirs make it to DVD.......2007-04-25

This collection is the DVD debut for all ten of these films, and I don't even know if any of them are available on VHS. I've only seen them thanks to Turner Classic Movies playing them at odd hours, along with other cable channels presenting them over the years. They are excellent but not well remembered film noirs. I would rate them all between 4 and 5 stars. I thought I would list their descriptions, stars, and special features below, not in any particular order:

Crime Wave: (1954) Starring Sterling Hayden and Gene Nelson. An ex-con is trying to go straight, but circumstances force him into crime one more time. Gene Nelson plays a hard-nosed cop. Note a young Charles Bronson playing a minor role.
Commentary by James Ellroy and Eddie Muller
Crime Wave: The City is Dark
Theatrical trailer

Decoy: (1946) Starring Gene Gillie and Edward Norris. Sci-Fi meets Film Noir in this story of a woman who will stop at nothing to retrieve 400K stolen in a robbery. Gillie would make Barbara Stanwyck proud as she chews up man after man in her quest.
Commentary by Stanley Rubin and Glenn Erickson
Decoy: A Map to Nowhere
Theatrical trailer

Illegal: (1955) Starring Edward G. Robinson and Nina Foch. Robinson plays a D.A. whose upwardly mobile career faces a train wreck when a man he convicted is executed and then found to be innocent. After he hits bottom he resurrects his legal career, this time as a criminal attorney. The plot can be hard to follow, but Robinson's performance is great.
Commentary by Nina Foch and Patricia King Hanson
Illegal: Marked for Life
Behind the Cameras: Edward G. Robinson
Theatrical trailer

The Big Steal: (1949) Starring Robert Mitchum and Jane Greer. The lead duo from "Out of the Past" trade wisecracks and insults in a cross-country chase over a suitcase full of stolen money. For once, Mitchum is actually not the bad guy. Almost too much fun to be considered Film Noir.
Commentary by Richard B. Jewell
The Big Steal: Look Behind You

They Live By Night: (1948) Starring Cathy O'Donnell and Farley Granger. The story of an escaped convict trying to live a normal life with the help of his girlfriend. Granger plays the convict who isn't entirely bad, but not entirely reformed either.
Commentary by Farley Granger and Eddie Muller
They Live By Night: The Twisted Road
Theatrical trailer

Side Street: (1950) Starring Cathy O'Donnell and Farley Granger. Granger plays a struggling husband trying to make ends meet when he spots some cash lying around in an office one day. He takes the money, but finds out it is much more than he thought. When he tries to return the money, he gets caught up in a murder mystery. Hitchcock-like in its twists and turns.
Commentary by Richard Schickel
Side Street: Where Temptation Lurks
Theatrical trailer

Where Danger Lives: (1950) Starring Robert Mitchum and Faith Domergue. The plot is somewhat unbelievable, even for Film Noir, but Mitchum gives a strong performance that makes it worthwhile. Mitchum plays a doctor who becomes taken with a patient. Due to a concussion, his judgement becomes clouded and he believes he has murdered the patient's husband. He and the woman go on the run, have some strange adventures, and then Mitchum realizes what kind of illness his new girlfriend was being treated for in the first place.
Commentary by Alain Silver and James Ursini
Where Danger Lives: White Rose for Julie
Theatrical Trailer

Tension: (1950) Starring Richard Basehart and Audrey Trotter. Basehart plays a mild-mannered man whose salary and disposition are not enough for his wife. She leaves him for a tough and wealthy man. Why Basehart would want her back is anyone's guess, but he does and plans to murder his wife's new boyfriend. The tough guy is murdered, but not by Basehart's character.
Commentary by Alain Silver and Elizabeth Ward with Audrey Trotter
Tension: Who's Guilty Now?
Theatrical Trailer

Act of Violence: (1948) Starring Van Heflin and Robert Ryan. Van Heflin plays a family man trying to adapt to life after the war and internment in a prison camp. Enter Robert Ryan, who plays a man with Terminator-like determination in his quest to murder Heflin's character for something that happened during their joint stay in the German prison camp.
Commentary by Dr. Drew Casper
Act of Violence: Dealing With the Devil
Theatrical Trailer

Mystery Street: (1950) Starring Ricardo Montalban and Sally Forrest. Montalban plays a detective who, working with a forensics expert, tries to solve a murder case and exonerate the lone circumstantial suspect. One of the first films I know of to use science to help solve a murder decades before DNA made this aspect of crime solving so interesting and important.
Commentary by Alain Silver and Elizabeth Ward

Audrey Hepburn was never more sleek and glamorous than in this delightful romantic caper costarring Peter O'Toole and directed by William Wyler. She's the chic daughter of a renowned art collector and covert forger (the always eccentric Hugh Griffith) who's deposited his best work, a famous statue, in a Paris museum. Trouble is, technology can now detect such forgery, so Hepburn plots to steal the statue with the help of O'Toole, an amateur thief and covert inspector. Of course, neither of them knows the whole truth about the other. They make an utterly charming couple, with O'Toole stealing the show in an uncharacteristically lighthearted turn. --Bill Desowitz

Description

The daughter (Audrey Hepburn) of a wealthy Frenchman (Hugh Griffith) who creates counterfeit art learns her father is in danger of being exposed as a crook. She decides to steal the family's forged Cellini sculpture from a museum before experts can examine it and enlists a society burglar (Peter O'Toole) to help her.

5 out of 5 stars How to Steal a Million.......2007-06-27

The madcap "Million" comprises a delightful romantic comedy and heist picture rolled into one. The sprightly Hepburn and debonair O'Toole make a winning duo, but Hugh Griffith takes top acting laurels as Audrey's father Charles, a flamboyant art forger. Expertly directed by veteran William Wyler, this is colorful, diverting fluff of the first order.

5 out of 5 stars delightful movie.......2007-05-07

Elegant cast, Paris, and an intruiging plot. I loved it.

5 out of 5 stars One of the Funniest movies ever!.......2007-05-06

I love this movie and I have waited a long time for it to come out on DVD. The combination of subtle and not-so-subtle humor in this hilarious film kept me laughing.
After catching him robbing her home, Audrey Hepburn asks a thief (played brilliantly by Peter O'Toole) to steal a statue belonging to her father from the museum where it is prominently on display...and well protected.
Hilarity ensues.
This movie is a must see for anyone loving Audrey Hepburn, Peter O'Toole or just good clean fun!

5 out of 5 stars My comedy collection.......2007-03-09

One of my very fav. movies!! Love it as much now as when I first saw it way back in 70's!!!

5 out of 5 stars Top movie.......2007-02-24

Whenever somebody thinks of Audrey Hepbun thet probably think of Breakfast at Tiffany's- when they think of Peter O'Toole then Lawrence of Arabia. However in this movie the perfomances of these two actors is at the very best. There is a plausible plot in a period when forgery in art was at its peak because technology had not reached todays levels. Charming dialogue, great chemistry and you will laugh over and over again.
Enjoy it.

Vincent D'Onofrio is one of our most aggressively commanding actors, and he makes a good choice to impersonate Yippie activist Abbie Hoffman. All loping, shambly charm and occasional frenzied explosiveness, D'Onofrio's Hoffman is close enough to the real thing that, just like the Yippies themselves, he appears magnetic and forceful to the already converted, but a fraudulent, egomaniacal hambone to everyone else. (Even those unimpressed by D'Onofrio's indulgences can only admire the simmering commitment Janeane Garofalo brings to the role of his wife Anita.) Which is more than you can say for Robert Greenwald's unfocused hagiography, which should manage to pull off the rare feat of displeasing anyone no matter what their opinions of Hoffman. Racing through the years with the greatest-hits flippancy toward a life unfortunately all too familiar from movie bios (see Abbie try to levitate the Pentagon! Nominate a pig for President! Battle loneliness and depression while on the run from the cops!), Steal this Movie plays more like a lecture than a happening. Even the most obvious points are hammered home with the type of bone-headed didacticism that does more to grate on an audience than win it over. Lest we miss a thing, there are occasional voice-overs by a badly impersonated Nixon and J. Edgar Hoover to explain exactly what's going on. The film plays with all manner of actual footage and FBI surveillance photography, but the mix of styles is more chaos than anarchy; the boxy, amateurish camera work drains all possible giddiness from even the most rapturously absurd of Hoffman's pranks. Straining with clumsy urgency to capture the tenor of its subject, Steal This Movie gets the self-righteousness down but misses out on the passion, and the liberating spark of play. --Bruce Reid

4 out of 5 stars pretty balanced: he admits to arrogance and buffoonery, but inspired change.......2007-07-02

This got me to re-think Abbie, whom I saw more as a provcateur than a politician of substance (in stark contrast to many of the activists in SDS, imho). What I remember most about him is Steal This Book, which is the perfect form of anarchy for affluent adolescents (us) in the suburbs (see the chapter "monkey warfare" for a guide to some of our misdeeds). I barely recalled that he was one of the Chicago 7.

He appeared far more self-aware in this film than I would have given him credit for, and it is clear that he actually did stand for some things, such as using the tools of the media to promote democracy and get out of Vietnam. In this fine film, you get to view his entire career, from the civil rights works he did, which I didn't know about, to his swan song as a local activist. It is a bit glib on his manic depression and its treatment, I found, but that also rounded out his portrait without creating an idol. The acting is genuinely excellent and the evocation of the time synches with my memory of the 60s: it was a great time to be an adolescent, I mean, what better thing to do than ditch high school as a protest? While much of it seems so callow today, it really is the last time America was interesting politically: as Abbie says, we stopped a war and had fun. Of course, the 1968 Chicago convention, which my parents took me to see, was a turning point in American politics, as the middle class were disgusted by the Dems, which added to the GOP's momentum as a result of civil rights alienating the South's democratic party. That is not really analysed in the film, but then, it is not intended as poli-sci I suppose.

Warmly recommended. It is a wonderful slice of history.

5 out of 5 stars Steal This Book; Woodstock Nation - It all comes to life!.......2006-11-23

It seems a long time ago ... the 60s do. I grew up then, protested the War then, and did quite a few things then that seem a bit silly to me now. Today, as we are wont to say, 9/11 has changed everything. This old "hippie," though I look more or less the same, is now undeniably, and proudly even, a conservative in most every way.

Watching this film made me realize that it wasn't really all that silly. I admired Abbie Hoffman then; I admire him still today. He is not today's "liberal." There was no agenda. It was all heart.

We miss you, Abbie. This wonderful time-capsule of a film made that all too clear. Left me with a tear in both eyes, and a lump in my throat. Vincent D'Onofrio is perfect!

Steal the book; now steal the movie!

4 out of 5 stars Very Good Film.......2006-08-04

Steal This Movie invites a new generation to appreciate the contribution of Abbie Hoffman to recent history. All of the performances are memorable, but Vincent D'Onofrio in particular nails his portrayal of the multi-faceted Hoffman. This is a very good film.

    5 out of 5 stars "for what its worth".............a vintage perspective...and a fine movie.......2006-03-10

paranoia strikes deep...and it was real......along the way i read about abbie and his cohorts in the papers and watched on t.v. and later read the books....including the surprisingly wonderful "letters from the underground," and now i've seen this special movie of a time and a man mostly misunderstood by the artful dissemination of misinformation.....i can't imagine this story being better portrayed as a tinsel town product...great casting and production...great feel for the times and the dynamics of abbie and anita....excellent use of actual footage and recreations....for some i might suggest watching the interviews with the cast and actual subjects in the movie...especially tom hayden and anita hoffman....before watching the movie..maybe not though...i watched the interviews last and they made a very good movie a very special event.......watch this movie and it will steal your attention and rally your emotions

5 out of 5 stars D'Onofrio is brilliant, the script is inspiring.......2006-02-28

Bruce Graham, the writer of the screenplay, was not happy with the final outcome of this film. He is a playwriting teacher of mine at Drexel University, and although the man is amazing, he couldn't be more wrong about "Steal This Movie." He might not have been happy with D'Onofrio as Abbie Hoffman, but I was thrilled by it.

This is a must-see for Vince D'Onofrio fans, and for those of us looking for a bit of inspiration to let our voices be heard against today's war. Vincent D'Onofrio is one of the greatest character actors I have ever seen, and I love the choices he makes for his films. Brilliant every time.

        Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Big Flaws But Watchable.......2006-08-02

I won't waste time going over the things other reviewers have shared about the film. I'm a woman so I don't care too much for chase films. I am a HUGE Stephen Dorff fan and you probably have to be that or a guy to like this, LOL! Steal is an okay film. It could be much better in several areas:

The plot was decent but there is a such thing as being too flashy and having too much unneeded action. I think Steal goes way too far with the special effects. I would have rather seen trained stunt skaters do their thing then all the unneccessary computer stunts.

The relationship between Slim (Dorff) and Karen( Henstridge) was laughable. They had chemistry but the story was too short to actually follow through with a decent romance. I think the audience was cheated with this part of the film. I would have rather seen a more drawn out romance than to see all of that wasted action. You could never tell how Slim and Karen really felt about each other because their characters showed no real emotion towards the romance. You can't tell if they are really in love or just out to get one over on each other.

Hendstridge's Karen seemed to be only after sex which was totally unrealistic for any police woman who seemed to only want to nail these thieves in the first place. She does however nail Slim in the steamroom (no pun intended ) in the most pitiful wannabe sex scene I have ever seen. At this point I was wondering if she was a cop or prostitute. Her actions made no sense and were disrespectful to the character's true motive. The film's writer should have ditched the romance between Slim and Karen because it didn't lead to anything. ESPECIALLY when Slim already had a girlfriend. Slim and Karen falling for each other even just for sex was way too unbelievable to me. Also I couldn't buy anyone in Slim's crew as smart I am sorry. I mean Slim is supposed to be a mastermind at robbing places yet he can't figure out that Karen is a cop on his tail even though she pops up everywhere he goes? Films need to stop dumbing down the men and adding more suspense! Dorff did okay but the fact is that you didn't know what the heck these characters were really like! The film gave no background information to go on at all about the people. It just started and ended about as fast as it began, leaving the audience as clueless as when the movie started.

The dialogue was laughable at times. When Karen's sexist superior says, " You're a determined little vixen aren't you? " I was like, " What? " This didn't even fit and was one of MANY dumb and embarrassing dialogue moves. Karen wasn't realistic as a police woman at all. What policewoman sleeps with the crook she's investigating AND puts up with the slimy remarks of some Lieutenant? On one hand Karen acted like she was so tough yet she let the men in this film run all over her. I would have enjoyed a tougher and more realistic detective. Natasha was good in the role but the writing messed up her ability to do anything to bring Karen out. Plus they only showed Karen about six times in the film! And Natasha is supposed to be one of the lead stars?!!!!

I think we all agree that the length was the worst about this film. I mean, 84 minutes? You couldn't think of anything else to add in here? They should have focused on better relationships and let us get to know the characters without all the hoopla they threw in for kicks.

Okay it may look like I am blasting this film but I am not. It's OKAY especially for Stephen Dorff. Maybe Steal is his way to making decent movies again. He's had a hard four or five years but Steal was ten times better than any film he's made since 2000.

If you like people chasing after each other in the same old hyped up heist plot with some other cliche' elements(that I won't mention so that I don't spoil it for folks who haven't seen it yet) then you will love this. But I wouldn't pay the regular price for it. I got it for $5.00 in Amazon's used section. If I had paid the regular price I would have been sitting with my head in the toilet right now. Steal is worth at least one look if you can overlook it's many flaws or if you're completely obsessed with Stephen Dorff like me.

3 out of 5 stars PRETTY GOOD ACTION MOVIE!!.......2006-07-18

I'M NOT MUCH ON ACTION FILMS, BUT THIS ONE WAS PRETTY GOOD!!
THE PLOT WAS COOL AND THE ACTING WAS PRETTY GENERIC...BUT THE MOVIE IS NOT TOO BAD!!
THIS WAS AN OKAY ACTION MOVIE WITH A PREMISE THAT COULD BE A REALY 'GREAT' MOVIE WITH A BIGGER BUDGET AND BETTER ACTORS!!

        4 out of 5 stars 'steal' me.......2006-03-22

i thought 'steal' was a good movie. one of stephen dorff's best.of course, being a BIG dorff fan,i love him in ALMOST everything i've seen him in.Stephen Dorff can STEAL me any time !!!!

        3 out of 5 stars Lights..Camera...Some Action!!.......2005-05-15

This movie had some high hopes for me...it was good, but not great. The film opens with action right from the get go, so you think you are in for a real treat!! Dialogue between the actors in this film is pretty good, chemistry is definately there between all three main characters. Problem is...yes it is a movie, but some of the action sequences are very unbelievable!!

3 out of 5 stars Stephen Dorff in This 'XXX' Type Action: Slight But Amusing.......2005-02-08

Not a great action, but still slick and entertaining in its own way enough, the titles 'Steal' (aka 'Riders') tell you all. It's about the charming (so they think) young boys and girls who steal, or rob, and who can ride, or do some extreme sports while running away. Picture to yourself 'XXX' without Vin and Samuel, and you will get a close image of this French film shot in Montreal, Canada.

The stars are, Stephen Dorff (as the leader of the thieves), Natasha Henstridge (as the detective who fell for him), Bruce Payne (as the boss in the police force), Steven Berkoff with a terrible wig, who plays the role of 'Surtayne,' a preacher in a small chapel who is actually a greedy crook. That means, he is doing it again, I mean, very ridiculously hammy performance. You either leave it, or enjoy it. And the director Gerard Pires is from France, the one behind the camera of the original 'TAXI,' a huge hit in France, which spawned two sequels and a Hollywood remake.

The plot is non-existent like 'XXX.' Well, that's about the four young thieves led by Dorff who is so charming that during the bank robbery the girls can look at him adoringly even at gunpoint. And when they run away form the police, they don't run -- they roller skate in the street, like ninjas.

But someone knows their identity, and that someone starts to threaten them. To make things more complicated, another guy knows the truths, too, so the young nice-looking leader Slim (it's Dorff's character) and his friends have to think of the way to get out of the difficulty.

MY ADVICE: Don't think while watching. The dialogues are often silly, the situations impossible. Acting? Forget about it. All I can say about the film is it's far, far better than watching 'Fear Dot Com' or 'SFW,' both of which did great harm to Stephen Dorff's career. And as to Ms. Henstrige, who is as beautiful as ever, and Payne as typecast as ever, you can easily imagine what they would do in this film. In short, nothing new.

THE BEST PART is its stunts. As in the original Frnech 'TAXI,' the director gives us well-choreographed action scenes with stylish photography. It's certainly a rare thing for us to watch a huge truck keep on running completely lopsided to the right. Kudos to the first-rate stunt crew.

'Steal' (or 'Riders') is exactly the film you enjoy watching, drinking beer and eating popcorn. You will spend the amusing 85 minutes, and that's all. But that's not a bad experience after all.

5 out of 5 stars A good collection of movies from 1937-1969.......2007-01-27

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969), Best Actress for Maggie Smith as a schoolteacher with unconventional ideas.

All in all, this is a good collection of 40 critically acclaimed and award-winning films from the years 1937-1969 that continue to be popular. They encompass all genres, and I count only two real clunkers among them - "Return to Peyton Place" and "The Rains Came". There are a lot of Academy Award winners among them - and I'm not talking just Best Song or Best Cinematography either. I counted 15 nominations for best picture, and a few actually won the top award. With the price heavily discounted as it is, it works out to six dollars per classic movie, which is a pretty good deal.

My impression is that this is just a DVD bundle, not a collector's edition of any kind. Thus I would not anticipate any extras other than those that are already on the included individual DVD's containing the movies themselves.

5 out of 5 stars What is this?.......2007-01-20

You would think for five hundred and fifty five dollars there would at least be a list of the movies included!!

As has become rapidly apparent over the course of his career, a little bit of Andy Garcia goes a long way. Though he can rise to good material, his taste generally is poor, as this lumpy comedy proves. More to the point, without good material, Garcia is revealed for what he is: a pretty-boy actor with only minimal talent and a slightly cross-eyed smile. So the idea of Garcia playing identical twins--one good, one evil--offers twice as much to despair of. The good twin is a social activist, who wants to utilize the sprawling ranch left to him by his late mother as a haven for oppressed migrant workers. The bad twin wants to steal the land and develop it with luxury condominiums. With four writers credited to Steal Big, Steal Little, it's no wonder the whole thing is a mishmash. Director Andrew Davis segued into this from The Fugitive (and the awful Chain Reaction) and showed that his action sense did him little good when trying to handle limp social-commentary comedy. Only Alan Arkin, old pro that he is, emerges unscathed. --Marshall Fine

This film is one of the greats. Andy Garcia is just terrific. It has all the sensibilitys that more films need.. The cast is superb and Alan Arkin especially shines as is right on in his role of Lou.

Andy Garcia put on a great performance, I am not a big fan but he captured my attention in this film with a interesting story. It was a very intriging film believe it or not but then again Ally Walker was in it and I am a huge fan!!

5 out of 5 stars Buyer Advice Yes its Widescreen.......2005-07-02

All though the back of the package shows this film to be in the 4.3 fitted tv format you will be surprised to find that it is letterboxed and widescreen in the full theater format preserving its theatrical screen format version. Widescreen lovers enjoy.

4 out of 5 stars Lemon tree very pretty, and lemon flower very sweet...........2005-06-20

As I was browsing through the HBO offerings last Friday night I saw the unusual pairing of Alan Arkin and Andy Garcia. I missed the crucial first fifteen minutes, and was a bit confused, but that's not really a bad thing in this movie. After the plot sort of began to make sense to me, Joey Pants showed up as Ruben's (the good, kind, warm hearted brother) attorney. That clinched it. Even though a new storyline or plot twist was thrown in every few minutes like adding more chilés for salsa, with Andy Garcia, (who is much, much more than a man with a love for hats)* Alan Arkin, Andy Garcia, Joe Pantoliano and David Ogden Stiers, I was laughing (or crying) every moment.
There are definite hold your breath moments about what's going to happen next; and the scenery is pretty darn good, too.
It reminded me at first of a James Cagney movie, 'Never Steal Anything Small', which has a similar title, but other than the leads being lovable and charming, the movies are not really the same.
This is also a long movie, the running time is 2 hours and 15 minutes, but it never dragged, and was never boring. It was kind of like if Billy Jack and Caine from Kung Fu were really identical twins and Billy Jack decided he wanted more money and power and to sell all their land.
As another reviewer said, it is acted lovingly by everyone in the cast, which makes it even more endearing.
It gets a four star from Casablanca, and only misses five because of some of the things at the big party.
Watch it, watch it twice...make some guacamole, buy something good to drink, and just enjoy it.

4 out of 5 stars Mean Andy, Nice Andy.......2005-04-24

This is not your typical evil twin movie, although on the surface it might seem so. Twin brothers are raised by a rich woman who adopts them. When she dies, the evil twin wants to make money off the land, while the good twin wants to share the land and all the wealth with everybody. It's not the funniest movie but I did enjoy the lightheartedness of it. The few scenes where the twins are shown together are some of the most convincing digitized twin scenes I've ever seen.

Flaws: It was a little unfocused and longer than it needed to be, but I liked the loving spirit that most of the people in this movie had. And who doesn't love a movie with a happy ending?

From what I've read about Andy Garcia, the good twin is very similar in his generous, caring nature but Andy is probably better in his money management skills. This is not Andy's best work (although his acting was superb) but nonetheless a "must have" in your Andy Garcia collection. Alan Arkin was lovable as the Andy's friend who tries to steer him in the right direction. Rachel Ticotin also does a respectable job as the wife who at first is reluctant to get back together with her husband.

this is based on true story about an iraqi pilot who defect to israel flying on a mig15 combat plane way back in 1966, because of this the israeli military was able to study the wickness of the mig15 which contribute to their victory in the six day war in june 1967, the aerial dogfight scene in this movie is really good.
