better than the 1st.......2006-08-19
Bloodfist 2 again stars Don "The Dragon" Wilson, along with an array of real-life martial arts world champions. Compared to the first Bloodfist (which was made only a year before this one), there is not much of a story, but the amount of action makes up for it greatly.
Jake Ray, now retired from fighting, goes to the Philippines to help his friend Vinny who has been captured by a man named Su. It becomes nothing more than a trap for Jake and a group of world class fighters, brought to fight in Su's own private tournament for his audience of guests. Su owns a group of his own fighters, including Vinny, who are on a special steroid and can't feel any pain when fighting.
Bloodifst 2 is packed with action (mostly fight scenes) from beginning to end. Unlike the 1st Bloodfist, the scenes are much better choregraphed and more realistic. The tournament is a lot better in this film too, lasting a good 20 minutes straight with fighters of a variety of styles and abilities. Some of the fights even get a little dirty - smashing heads into walls, using pipes, and a few bone-breakers.
Again, don't expect a story with this one and there is no suprise ending or any kind of twist of fate. Fortunately, it ends well on the action note. If you want an easy going movie with lots of well-choreographed fights, Bloodfist 2 is right up there.
Entertaining kickboxing film that outdoes the original.......2004-12-10
For those of you that don't know, the Bloodfist films are the "Friday the 13th" series of kickboxing/karate flick as the shear number of these (their are 8!) outnumber any other series in the genre. I'm still in the process of viewing them all and of what I've seen, Bloodfist II is one of the best of the series and I even found it to be better than the original. The first film ripped off Bloodsport and this sequel rips off Enter the Dragon as Don "The Dragon" Wilson is kidnapped along with other champion fighters and taken to a remote island where they are forced to fight in gladiator style matches. The fighting scenes wer staged better than the first film and they were also more brutal. Though apparently Wilson plays the same character from the first film, his character doesn't appear to be the same as he is more tough, stern, and overall more likeable as an action character. Overall I found this be a highly entertaining B-Grade action flick that is sure to please fans.
THE BLOODFIST MOVIES WERE UNRELATED AFTER THIS; 2.5 STARS.......2004-08-15
THIS TIME AROUND, JAKE RAE [DON ''THE DRAGON'' WILSON] GIVES UP HIS WORLD TITLE AFTER KILLING AN OPPONENT IN THE RING. BUT, THAT'S NOT THE LAST TIME HE'LL BE COMPETING. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, HE'S CAPTURED AND ALONG WITH SEVERAL OTHER MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPIONS, HE'S BOUGHT TO AN ISLAND FORTRESS TO TAKE ON SOME DRUGGED-UP FIGHTERS. NOT AS GOOD AS ITS PREDECESSOR. WHAT SAVES IT IS THE VERY GOOD FIGHT SEQUENCES THAT OCCUR NEAR THE END. THE STORYLINE FOR THIS MOVIE SEEMS TO BE VERY SIMILAR TO THAT OF ''ENTER THE DRAGON''. BUT MOST MARTIAL ARTS FANS WILL LIKE IT ANYWAY.
And the winner is... Don "the dragon" Wilson.......2003-07-09
Bloodfist 2 was a pretty good low budget sequel. The plot was a little shaky but the martial arts was pretty good. Art Camacho provided the action sequences on most of Don's films which were most behalf on the mediocre side. The good thing about the films is the martial art champions that were brought. There were shoot fighting champions, tae kwon do, hapkido, judo, and shotokan. The last fight scenes in the ring were pretty good. Don Wilson displaying some great continueous single kicks. Overall a average martial arts film with some good fight sequences.
Bloodfist II is TOO cool.......2003-04-22
I feel this film is a rare sequel to ver pass it's original, it has twice the action of the original film and features many more Martial Arts cahmpions. The story has Don "The Dragon" playing a karate champ who is kidnapped along with half a dozen other fighters. All enter (against their will) a tournament which gambler Mr. Su (Joe Mari Avelana) has rigged by pitting them all against steroid freaks with their own fighting skills. Wilson's climatic showdown with Maurice Smith is by far the best of the entire movie, and this flick stands out (as do all the other BLOODFIST titles) as a particularly fun Martial Arts saga.

Not too shabby........2004-12-19
For a low budget direct-to-video action flick, this doesn't come off to bad. It stars real like Kickboxing champion Don "The Dragon" Wilson as an ex-CIA agent who's past back to haunt him when he and his son are targeted for murder. Some decent plot twists and Don's sub par acting is still likeable. I was actually surprised to see this film retitled as part of the Bloodfist series as I originally saw it on video as just Hard Way Out. That's ok that it was retitled Bloodfist VIII: Hard Way Out as it makes my Bloodfist collection that much longer.

This is the best (admitedly that's not saying much) of überawful Don "the Dragon" Wilson's chop socky flicks, redeemed by good writing and a story that holds your interest. Some good martial arts action, as well. If you want to turn off your brain for an evening, this is a good call.

Surprisingly good fifth entry.......2004-12-11
Bloodfist IV was good and V is surprisingly even better. The Bloodfist series with each sequel seems to be fleshing out more and more story. The first two films were no brain karate flicks in which the story took a back seat. But with IV and V, the story is actually more important than the well staged fights. Like the previous sequels, there is no connection to the other films so you don't have to worry about watching these babies in order. This time Don "The Dragon" Wilson wakes up in a hospital after being shot in the head...only he has no memory of who he is. Suddenly he is being pursued by crimeloards and the CIA. Was he a ciminal or was he a undercover offical? Yes the story sounds reminicent of The Long Kiss Goodnight, but every Roger Corman production I have ever seen borrows from some other film so it was not surprsing. In Conclusion I found the film to use its tight budget really well and I dug the amount of time that went into to the script to come up with some unique plot twists.
Kung fu Hong Kong-style.......2003-08-20
It's probably a well-known fact that some of the best martial arts movies come from Hong Kong. CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON is a contemporary classic from Hong Kong. Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Chow Yun-Fat are all martial arts legends who have made it big through the Hong Kong cinema. Cory Yuen (aka Yuen Woo Ping) has made himself a household name by staging the karate battles in such outstanding kung fu films as THE MATRIX, CROUCHING TIGER, THE ONE, CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE, THE TRANSPORTER, etc.
Don "The Dragon" Wilson, WKA World Light-Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion, stars in BLOODFIST V:HUMAN TARGET, a movie very much in the tradition of Hong Kong cinema. "The Dragon" plays Jim Stanton, a federal agent hell-bent on breaking up the arms-smuggling ring of Kwon, a nefarious Chinese criminal whose latest deal involves some stolen plutonium. Unfortunately, Stanton is shot in the head and left for dead by some of Kwon's meanies. He awakens in a hospital bed with his memory completely erased. Both Kwon and Stanton's superiors, who believe he's become a double agent, have him at the top of their hit lists, making his "wife" Candy (Denice Duff) his only ally.
There's no denying that HUMAN TARGET's martial arts sequences are lavish and flashy. One of the great things about Don "The Dragon"'s movies is that he's always given worthy opponents to go toe-to-toe with. In HUMAN TARGET, one of them is Steve James, whose been in such karate gems as the AMERICAN NINJA series. I rank him at the same level of all the best opponent's Don "The Dragon" stuck it out with, including Billy Blanks (BLOODFIST), Maurice Smith (BLOODFIST II), Gary Daniels (BLOODFIST IV:DIE TRYING), and Matthias Hues (BLACKBELT).
Still, it's Don "The Dragon"'s movie, all the way, and how better to showcase his astonishing kickboxing abilities than to put him in a Hong Kong-esque kung fu movie?
Out of nowhere!.......2003-04-28
I had no expectations when I popped in this video, which might be why I absolutely thought it was the greatest film since "Total Recall." Great twists and turns, and "The Dragon" was quite good. I appreciate his realistic fighting style rather than all this "wire work" that is so preposterous in movies like "The Matrix." This film really deserves attention. It is that good. I highly suggest getting this film.
Awesome kickboxing picture!.......2003-02-17
Move over Steven Segal. This picture has a great plot, filled with turns in the plot that keep you guessing, never knowing who to trust. Denise Duff is quite good in this. Who is she?! Usually, in a kickboxing film you only get long drawn out fights and little story. This film has terrific fights that don't outlast their welcome and a story that really works. Technical credits are solid. Writing and directing are top notch.
A great kickboxing action thriller!.......2001-06-25
The plot kept me guessing. Loved the twists and turns and the action. Fights were realistic...no absurd acrobatics like other flicks. Acting and tech credits were decent. Directing and writing impressed me. DVD looks fantastic.

Decent seventh entry...........2004-12-19
Bloodfist VII was a slight improvement over the hooky die hard Rip-off Bloodfist VI, but I found the series to be wearing a little thin by now. This time Don "The Dragon" Wilson is an ex-Special Forces agent that gets wrongfully blamed for murder and then is pursued by the cops. Sounds like "The Fugitive" you say? Well, yes it respembles that film on some aspects. If you liked the first films, you will no doubt like this one as well.
Trivia: Look for Mad TV's Michael McDonald as the "Running Cop". He has actually appeared in three of the Bloodfist films. He also played the jeweler in Bloodfist V and a nuclear technician in Bloodfist VI.
Don the Dragon returns.......2002-02-02
This was an average movie with the one true standout being that Paulo Tocha(Paco the Tai fighter from Bloodsport, Born to defence ect.) is here to be the for hide tough guy who doesn't get to display any of his Tai fighting skill and gets his neck snapped. Bad use of talent if you ask me. Don the dragon offers his standard fare as usual.
Don Wilson is your god and mine!!!!.......2002-01-08
Any fan of B grade martial arts movies knows who Don "The Dragon" Wilson is. This is on par with the other 6 Bloodfist movies. You won't get much from this flick but it has Don kicking people in the face so what more do you need. Hit MUTE and add your own dialogue, it's twice as good.
Don't bother.......1999-09-22
I feel it is my responsibility to let the world know that this video is a waste of a precious pair of hours of your short life. No plot and bad acting make for a must-miss film. I wish there had been someone to warn me.
