2 out of 5 stars WATCH THIS MOVIE WITH KIDS.......2007-03-07

This movie was not funny although it tried desperately,(perhaps thats why they didnt advertise it as a comedy).I got about 20 minutes through it and stopped.Only watched further along into because my kids saw it on the shelf(even they got bored with it).Although i saw it only 2 months ago..it is a vague memory.Do not buy this film unless u can get it real really cheap.Finding a respectable ninja/shinobi movie is harder than finding a good lasagne or shoes for that matter.Oh well the search continues,Any ideas?

1 out of 5 stars Not even Ando can save this train wreck.......2006-05-12

Honestly, the only reason I even considered this movie was because of the very beautiful Masanobu Ando. And it starts out interesting enough... but quickly goes down. The story focuses around three ninjas, friends from childhood. When one of them dies the other two split up and set out to avenge her death. This movie is campy, but not in a good way. The stunts are cheesy, the music is BAD, and the acting leaves a lot to be desired. I was embarrassed to be watching this one.

1 out of 5 stars This is not the Red Shadow I used to know.......2005-04-27

Just like the title... This is not the Red Shadow I used to know. Red Shadow is one of the famous Mangas back in 60's or earlier 70's, and was shoot in live-action TV series decades ago. Back in the 80's it was re-done into a whole new animation series which is what I grow up with, and the animation was a big-hit back then. Many toys, products were licensed under the animation line. I personally would say that the animation version of Red-Shadow was the best one. And I hope that they could make a compele series of Red Shadow Animation Series DVD.

In addition, the original manga is called "Masked Ninja: Red Shadow", and in the orignal story there are Red-Shadow (a school Teacher before he put mask on), Blue Shadow (a kid ninja who is smart), and White Shadow (a monk type of ninja who is older than Red Shadow and is his assistant). The original series has more like Batman/Spiderman/Superhero type of storyline, Red Shadow has two identities, and the other two ninjas are his sidekicks. Red Shadow even has a secret place where a man makes special weapons for them (Just like Q in James Bond). Kinda miss it.

3 out of 5 stars Entertaining, but..........2005-04-19

Two things I immediately noticed: 1) Ancient china didn't have toenail clippers, 2) Nor did they have aerosol spray bottles... both of which were shown in the film. This cheapens it for me. While the action scenes were good, the acrobat scenes were highly unbelievable, and the part where Akakage disappeared in thin air were a bit over the top. That and the part where the master was creating fireworks from his fingertip. It was all done in a serious manner. If this was supposed to be a spoof movie it missed its mark big time. Maybe only a Japanese sense of humor would get it. I don't know. I did moderately enjoy the movie, despite the obvious cheesiness.

4 out of 5 stars Ninja A Go-Go!!!.......2004-12-30

This is a great movie. It is intended as a light hearted adventure. A younger generation's not so heavy journey through friendship. Maybe some people don't care about such things, but I do :).

It's hip ninja action with 2 male leads who try to do just that in that silly way that makes this a joy to watch. Personal issues arrise and we are witness to how 3 young friends interact with each other. In the end they come out showing what friendship is all about.

How can you not like the Ninja Perfect Landing? ;)

      3 out of 5 stars Ok DVD.......2007-06-28

Great Sasuke & Orihara vs Duck Togo & Psychic- Its more of a wrestling match then a hardcore match, despite the fact that ladders, and night sticks are used. The Great Sasuke loses his mask but quickly returns with a Sasuke the Great mask (His partners old name). A few good moves, but nothing too special. Grade C+

Sekimoto & Shimoda vs Ito & Teioh- Well again this wasn't a hardcore match at all. This was a 10 year anniversary celebration for Teioh against 3 of his students. It was slow moving and you could tell a lot of people where holding back. Grade C-

Shadow WX vs Mad Man Pondo- We finally saw a hardcore match. We saw a few big shots, and some light tubes. The match just seemed like it was getting moving and we had a weak finish. Grade B-

Yamakawa vs Bad Boy Hido- This was a great match. They must have used 10,000 thumb tacks. Yamakawa heads was filled with thumb tacks. Many great moves and both of them seemed like nothing would get the pin. Then a terrible finish. Grade B+

Why do we always have the worst announcers money can buy? All I want is a guy who is excited to call the match, and has some good wrestling knowledge. Instead we one guy totally dead and boring. The other sounds like an imbecile. The DVD is only 1 hour and 15 minutes and you only get 4 matches. That is always disappointing. The DVD is ok but there are much better DVD's out there. The last match was almost an A+ but the finish was very disappointing. Overall Grade C+

      3 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE.......2007-01-05

Ok I didn't think this DVD was very good. I don't know how the first person gave every match 9/10 and then said I wouldn't buy it again that makes no sense.

Joel Gertner was ok on the play by play. He had some energy and was excited about the matches. Hyatt did a terrible I mean TERRIBLE job. She was totally off topic, never talked about the match, (unless it was about how much she wanted to sleep with a wrestler) and was arguing with Joel non stop (No I don't mean this in a good way like JBL and Michael Cole).

The first match had one spot, that was it. Not one of trent's best matches 4/10.

2nd match was a women match where they really went at it 6/10.

3rd YAMAKAWA V.S. KANEMURA best match of the DVD it was great 8/10.

4th was a joke, the arena was dark and the light tubes where used so you couldn't see anything. TERRIBLE 1/10

5th ok match nothing out of the ordinary 5/10.

Yep that is it 5 matches. I paid $8 with shipping, and it wasn't worth it. 100's of other better DVD's

3 out of 5 stars Wishing someone would put Missy througth a flaming table........2006-11-15

I wont do a match by match since its been done already and I agree on their reviews, sufice to say I liked em all but wasnt overly blown off by any of em.

But what should have made this DVD special to buy would be in english comentary. Very much like the FMW ones by Tokyo Pop a few years back you could get much bether matches of the same promotion(in this case BJW) for cheaper but the apeal was to hear about the wrestlers, current storylines and the like as it was happening on screen.
Well the comentary on this disc did set it apart all rigth, as its freaking unbearable. I cant belive someone tougth Missy Hyat would make a good color comentator for japanese hardcore wrestling. Joel Gertner did his first play by play, he didnt knew the names of the moves and had trouble with the ones of the wrestlers but overal you could feel he was trying his hardest and wouldnt had been particularly bad had he not been dealing with the retarded tranny lookalike that is good ol missy. Missy went on and on about wanting to do Trent Acid, Screaming puppies over and over during the joshi match, counting the chairs used as if it was a sesame street episode and many many more anoying things. Basically what could have given an interesting angle for the disc to do well in retail ended up being its most unlikeable trait. go get some bootlegs of BJW instead.

WINGWR V.S. TRENT ACID 8.5 out of 10
This match is pretty good. Thier is alot of blood, but the best part is a jump from the boucany through 3 tables

      ICHIKI V.S. GENKI 9.2 OUT OF 10
This is a great women' s match. It features glass, barbwire, tables and other various wepons. Thier is alot of blood also.

      YAMAKAWA V.S. KANEMURA 9.4 OUT OF 10
Awsome! This match is insane! It is the best one. It takes tables to a new extreme!

SHADOW WX V.S. MIKE SAMPLES 8 OUT OF 10
This match is kind of corney. It is a lights out match so you can't realy see what is happening.

      ABDULLAH V.S. HONMA 9.2 OUT OF 10
This match is good with ladders, and barbwire, but I was disapointed.

SUM UP: THIS HAS SOME GOOD MATCHS IF I COULD BUY IT AGAIN I WOULDN'T IT'S OVERRATED. DON'T PAY MORE THEN 12.00

3 out of 5 stars Mystery and Suspense Collection - Madacy.......2006-09-18

This is an inexpensive disc from Madacy. "NIght Train..." is actually a fairly good print. While it hasn't been restored, the film quality is pretty good, with minimal scratching. The audio, like most British films of this period, is a bit below the quality of Hollywood films of the same time. Subtitles would be helpful to catch all the dialogue, but are not on the disc.
"Cast..." is not a good quality print. There is an audible hiss during much of the film, and there are some large scratches, white circles, etc. "The Red House" is much the same--very scratchy picture, and the music is a bit distorted when it gets louder.
If NTTM is your main reason for buying this disc, it's worth it. Maybe someday the other films will be released in better condition.

Yep. I havent seen the DVD yet, but after years of trying to locate this movie (Cast a Dark Shadow) on DVD, its wonderful to find it issued with two other movies. Cast a Dark Shadow is about a jerk who basically marries women for their money. He meets an old lady and then inherits her money, but with a catch. He ends up marrying another woman, who turns out to be his match. GREAT, FANTASTIC, DARK movie!
