Something a bit different from the team of Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung, Heart of Dragon has action scenes and comedy, but also tells the dramatic tale of two brothers who are torn between duty and dreams. Tat Fung (Chan) has recently left a S.W.A.T.-type agency for the local police force to take care of his mentally disabled older brother Do-do (Hung). Although Do-do is a full grown man, he has the mental capacity of a young child and is always getting into mischief. Tat has put away his dreams of marriage and traveling the world as a sailor to watch after Do-do. While playing cops and robbers with his kid friends, Do-do gets mixed up in a jewelry heist and is kidnapped by the bad guys. Tat momentarily puts aside his official law-enforcer status and takes matters into his own hands, which results in serious repercussions. The fight sequences in Heart of Dragon are closer to such American films as Die Hard; Tat and his S.W.A.T.-team buddies take on the bad guys in an unfinished building with zero comedy and lots of bloodshed. At a crucial impasse in the story Tat lashes out at Do-do, and this poignant scene perfectly illustrates the frustrations of a man who loves and hates his brother at the same time. It's a switch from the usual fare, and Heart of Dragon offers ample proof that Chan and Hung can handle dramatic material. --Shannon Gee

A Heart Breaker.......2007-05-13
Jackie is at his best in acting and action here. He has a brother to love and care for and does a very good job in protecting him.Check it out, you might like it.
Popcorn movie.......2006-08-09
Jackie Chan is a cop who lives with his developmentally disabled brother. He is his caretaker and protector. Chan's character's dream since he was a child was to be a sailor and the chance arrives in the mail. A job offer. To do so, he must leave his brother in the care of questionable others. The brother gets in trouble often and before Chan leaves, he gets into a doozy of a jam.
Okay, it's a hokey B movie with cheesy music but it was fun to watch. Lots of Jackie Chan action and a decent plot. Relax, don't think too much, grab a pop and munchies and enjoy the show.
A very touching story and some great action and stunts in this flick.......2006-07-15
So this movie is a Golden Harvest production where they pulled ALL the old school kung fu stars to star in a movie with not that much action. yeah, I don't get it either, but the movie is pretty good. It is about Jackie and his mentally retarded brother, Sammo. He pulls it off quite nicely and most of his scenes are evry funny. So whether you are a kugn fu fan or not, this is at least worth a peek.
But let me name you all the stars. Again they all don't fight, btu it is nice to see them. But then again, most of them do end up fighing in the 2 bonus fights on the disk, so it's all good. Here we go-Jackie, Samo, Lam Ching Ying(nice eyebrows), phillip ko(really nice mustache), hoi san lee(36th chamber), wah yuen and hoi meng(hellz windstaff) star and do the stunts, james tien, Hark on-fung(warriors two), Blacky Ko(boxer's adventure), Roy chiao(a touch of zen), corey yuen, Dick Wei(avenging eagle), Wu Ma, Kar lok chin(operation scoprpio), and conan lee's friend in Ninja in the dragon's den. I left some people out so play name that old school star while watching this, it is quite fun.
I only gave the movie a 3 becasue the movie was a bit cheesy, the haircuts were extra cheesy, and the music had me reaching for the remote a few times.
The fox/fortune star release is VERY well done with dual languages and you need the original langualge for this. In kung fu, dubbing is ok, but in a more serious movie like this, you can't listen to those same, stupid voices. It is presented in a widescreen format and the pictuer is pretty good. bonus feature is 2 extra fight scenes. Which reminds me, I forgot that Chi Ling Chu(kugn fu hustle, snake in eagle's shadow) fights in one of the stupidest fights ever. ALso check out Lee Hoi San's funky hair do.
Fox Presents Fortune Star, Uncut.......2006-02-28
This is in response to the Feb. 5th review titled "ORIGINAL IS BETTER~!"
While I agree with the message, it was put the wrong place. While in most cases the R1 releases of Hong Kong films are heavily cut and dubbed, these releases by Fox, are actually done by the fantastic HK company Fortune Star, and only released under Fox. They contain the UNCUT film in the original Cantonese language (DTS too!), as well as the English dub. As usual the picture quality is more than fantastic. The only downpoints are the usual Fortune Star downpoints: Hardly-to-no extras, and slightly edited sound fx,(but in this case no original mono sound). Also the subtitles are actually dubtitles, but are not terrible. In all, this is still one of the better versions of this film on DVD, especially for under $10.
PS. As for the argument that "no other countries have their own cuts, like France," maybe you should look into Luc Besson's distribution of Asian (especially Thai) films.
ORIGINAL IS BETTER~!.......2006-02-05
If you want UNCUT ORIGINAL version, ALWAYS look for ORIGINAL LICENSED Production. NOT US Release. Its a foreign film, it should not be US version to begin with~! HELLO!!!?? Why settle for LESS with US Version where they edit and cut so many excellent scenes especially with Jackie's Fighting Scenes. And US Release ruins the speed and sound as well. I have been collecting Jackie Chan movies both HK and US Release Version for quite some time now. I found HK Version to be MUCH MORE in enjoyable, and HIGHER in Quality. American Market always like to "Americanize" and "Control". Regional Code Regulation thing is one of the example to CONTROL the Market. Why not let everyone enjoy the same HK Original Release move the same way REST OF THE WORLD enjoys it ?? No one makes Hollywood American movies to "French version" or "Chinese Version" ~! This what Americans are doing~! Well, enjoy the cheap "American version" then~! LOL

Os shows do Dio como sempre sao muito bem elaborados e esse nao poderia ser diferente. E'um excelente cantor!!
Goldie is no Vivian!.......2007-03-17
I missed the Sacred Heart show at the Cow Palace in '85(San Francisco) but remember a live recording on the local rock station w/ VIVIAN CAMPBELL which included Like the Beat of a Heart, Last in Line/Holy Diver, and Don't Talk to Strangers which was magical. Why Dio didn't release a video with Vivian is beyond me. Nothing against Craig but the original lineup which was a wondrous thing should have been on this video(now DVD) Dio prancing around with a sword slaying the dragon with lasers coming out of the eyes is downright hilarious nowadays but that Lord of the Rings style cheese was the bomb back then. For the kids I would recommend the Last in Line video from the Spectrum if it's available on DVD. Old middle aged metalheads I'll see you at HEAVEN AND HELL '07! How old is Dio now, 70?! And he'll be on stage pointing the devil horns at you! LOL!!! ON AND ON, ON AND ON! HEAVEN AND HELL! YEAH!!
DIO!!!!!!!!.......2006-06-16
this dvd is a riot. dio is total cheese, but then you stop laughing and start rocking to it, and before you know it...you're a fan!!
DIO: FIND THE SACRED HEART:.......2005-11-24
IF THERE IS A HELL, RONNIE JAMES DIO IS IN IT AND HE IS LAUHGING AT THE DEVIL: RJD AND THE GANG, TAKING ME AND ALL OF US DIO FANS BACK TO 1986: BAND MEMBERS WE'RE THE FOLLOWING: RONNIE JAMES DIO. LEAD VOLCALS. CRIAG GOLDIE LEAD AND RYTHM GUITAR. VINNY APPICE. DRUMS AND TRASH CANS. JIMMY BAIN. BASS GUITAR. AND CLAUDE SCHNELL KEYBOARDS. ALL HAD A MAGICAL MOMENT AS WE... THE FANS... GET TO SEE AND HEAR RONNIE JAMES DIO'S MOST POPULAR CONCERT FROM 1986 FROM THE ALBUM AND TOUR... SACRED HEART. DIO DELIVERS A PACKAGE FROM THIS 86 TOUR. THE FIRE BREATHING DRAGON, DEAN THE DRAGON THAT IS WAS THE MAIN HIGH-LIGHT FOR THE SHOW AND THE TITLE TRACK OF DIO LP #3 SACRED HEART OFCOURSE. DEAN THE DRAGON WAS AND STILL IS THE BEST PART OF THE RONNIE'S TOUR AND DURING THE SONG SACRED HEART LIVE WAS AND STILL IS THE BEST HI-LIGHT OF THIS GREAT TOUR. NO WONDER RONNIE AND HIS BAND DID THIS TOUR FOR 2 YEARS. FROM 1985-1987. I HAVE ALL OF DIO'S FULL LENGTH CDS. AND I WILL BE GETTING HIS VERY LATEST, MASTER OF THE MOON. BUT THIS DVD WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOU FINDING THE SACRED HEART.
A Fan's Most Gratifying Dream!.......2005-07-22
If anyone goes a long way back with Ronnie James Dio, then this is the DVD to get. The stage show is pyrotechnically outstanding for the period, Ronnie's voice is still just as good as when he was with Sabbath (the first time), and Goldy...well, he's competent.
It's interesting to me, watching the updated interview with Ronnie and Goldy in the special features section. To be more specific,I'm still baffled that RJD has kept Goldy on and off for so long.Goldy is certainly a capable guitarist, but without question only a slight improvement over the worse guitarist whom ever played with Ronnie, Tracy G. Although I can understand perfectly Dio's firing of the ungrateful, Gary Moore ripoff Vivian Campbell (I'm not forgetting Viv was a good writer),but I still I see Dio's loss of Rowan Robertson as puzzling as Ozzy's spilt with Jake E. Lee. Rowan was the best he'd played with since Iommi, in my opinion.
Forgetting that, this DVD is probably my absolute favorite right now, though I'm still without the '72 Stockholm Purple show, and am still revved about hopefully soon checking out Blackmore's fit at California Jam.
