Great combo of two movies in one. no special features though, but the movies are both great and the quality is good too. If your looking for a no frills look at the movies, this is it.

You simply can't go wrong with this DVD containing two outstanding films on educators who inspire their students in two utterly different ways.

In "Stand and Deliver" Edward James Olmos, almost unrecognizable, rightly earned an Oscar Nomination for his portrayal of an idealistic teacher in a run-down school. He makes extraordinary efforts to connect and motivate his students. He is a shining example of that cliche term "No one cares how much you know until the know how much you care." Olmos's character cares more than any teacher I have ever met myself. Awesomely inspiring!

Morgan Freeman's role in "Lean on Me" is typical of the kind of roles he's particularly good at: "My way or the highway." He nearly sinks his own efforts to turn around a failing school by acting as if he ALONE is the only one that can. This is a lesson for every administrator out there: Trust Your Staff/Facutly. Give your staff and facutly the respect they are entitled to and they will work for you and the students much better than if you brow beat them and circumvent their authority as professional educators. It is only when Freeman's character learns this that things begin to go his well-intentioned way.

As a 16 year veteran teacher I love nothing more than inspirational stories about education. Both of these films are now available in one package and definitely worth the purchase! If you are moved by other stories in the same vein, then check out "Mr. Holland's Opus", "To Sir with Love", "The Blackboard Jungle", "Dead Poet's Society", "Take the Lead", and "Akeelah and the Bee."

Leslie Ann Warren! Gorgeous and so so so talented! She lights up the screen with her brilliant beautiful smile, and backs everything up with deep talent.
Genevieve Bujold, another beauty, in a different way, equally talented...the changes she goes through as she learns about her own sexuality.
Keith Carredine- Not just an interesting and photogenic face with a dancers body... he too has the acting skill to convey the complexity of his character and how despite how he screws so many things up, his character;s heart wants love...
THe other actors and actresses... Rae Dawn Chong... excellent.
It is a very "80's" style movie, stylistic and somewhat strange... characters intermingling and intersecting... a very unique story about people;s desires to connect.
I dont want to sit and rehash the plot line, suffice to say it is a terrific artistic movie and well worth watching more than once.
The music by the incredible Teddy Pendergrass so perfectly outlines the story too. His songs play a huge part of the movie's structure...

This is one great film. It's a lot of fun and it's also very sexy, surprising,and really a kick to watch. Women will live vicariously through Lesley Ann Warren's character ! You will either identify with her a lot, or you'll wish you could.
Lesley was perfect for this film ,and her "lovers" were all very charismatic. The plot is very busy and never dull. The whole cast was great. It's one of those films that seemed destined to "fit" and come to life. Original and a real blast.

Does someone dislike Alan Rudolph in the DVD industry?.......2006-03-27

This is one of the best films ever made, solidly in my top 100. Look at the director, the cast, the strength of this great film, and then look at the ton of garbage being released every week on DVD, and ask yourself why "Trouble in Mind" and "Welcome to LA" are missing. And for that matter, note that there are only 11 reviews posted here for this film. An puzzling injustice.

One of my favorite icons of the eighties!.......2005-11-06

A no mainstream entertainment with interesting and fine dialogues gives as result a fascinating portrait of those eighties. Atmospheric drama around the banality, frivolity and naïve domain of the life 's theory in this captivating story around a classic triangle affair.

All the cast was splendid: From the disturbed Genevieve Bujold, the easy going life of Leslie Ann Warren and the mysterious and elusive male character played by Keith Carradine.

I must acknowledge that Alan Rudolph made me think he would climb the highest peaks after The Moderns, but evidently, something happened on the road.

A Quirky Ode To Sexual Liberation (And Romance!).......2003-09-11

'Choose Me' is an odd little movie, set in a stylized (and stylish), totally libidinous after hours kind of twilight, even though some scenes take place in the day. The onscreen music is after hours jazz, and the soundtrack underneath uses songs of Teddy Pendergrass in sometimes shockingly effective, nearly subliminal ways. The complex plot, which I leave to others to describe, deals with the curious interface between love and lust in a witty, ironic way. Keith Carradine is compelling as the mysterious stranger who is all things to all the women in the film. Bujold does a nearly dual role as radio talk show host Nancy Love and her daytime alter ego, Ann. It's a lot of fun, as well as something to give you pause as you pursue your desires.

I purchased Mr. Bean for my husband for Christmas. My 10 year old granddaughter saw the tape and fell in love with Mr.Bean. This summer when discussing Christmas, she said she was going to ask Santa to bring her a Mr. Bean just like Grandpas. Doesn't matter what age you are, Mr. Bean is enjoyed by all.

I , my son, and my wife have viewed the 4 volumes currently on the market.
We LOVE them all. The simple joys that Bean brings to his live action character translate very well into this nicely done, and artfully drawn, cartoon series. Perfectly enjoyable.

Hi, I watched the movie recently on T.V. and thought that it was okay, but what I am interested in finding is the music that accompanied the movie! I have searched high and low and can't find anything. Please someone, if you know how I can get ahold of that song(now all I am is...) ALONE which I think the credits said was sung by someone named Josh Clayton, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know, I want it!!!

For those old enough to have experienced Easyrider (1969), Me and Will holds no new vibes. However, that does not qualify this movie negatively. Admittedly interwoven with Easyrider, Me and Will provides good entertainment for a far bigger audience than motorbike-adepts. Its logic and appealing story refers to freedom and escape from daily routines. Its shots are fine, in particular those from the American countryside. For the fans of Traci Lords: she has a tiny role as a waitress, and does well.

As motorcycle movies go, this one is okay. There were a couple items I thought distracted from the plot and weakened the climax of a movie that had potential. The in-your-face drug use was excessive and the fact that every character was either a junky or a wife beater was just too cliched. And the climax of finding the Easy Rider bike is so lame, it voided the complete plot of the movie. And why can't a motorcycle movie be shot at a location where the rocky mountains isn't a constant backdrop? How about making a move about the Dragon's Tail in North Carolina or Route 66 or anywhere but California? If you can find the CD used and you're a motorcycle die-hard like me, it's worth it.

Great Movie!!!!.......2002-06-20

I watched this movie when I couldn't go to sleep this Sunday night on Lifetime. Was almost falling asleep but the movie just got me bolted upright. It was just so ...poignant, or maybe it just spoke so well to my particular situation. I stayed up till 5am to watch it. And was just like "wow" afterwards. Hadn't noticed the title and asked everybody if they had a movie guide....finally called Lifetime Network and a kind person today called me back and told me the title. I'm buying that video.....and it'll be the first video purchase I've ever made!!!
Good for you, girls, for making that movie!!!

As an investor I found this DVD very informative and priced less than most investment videos. I liked the direct advice from seasoned professionals and the detailed strategy for investors. The biggest benefit is the links to foreclosure, pre-foreclosure and ROE websites that typically would cost much more.

Someone goofed! Although the packaging says 13 songs, this DVD has 28 songs. And so the run time is over 135 minutes long not 80 minutes as listed. "I put the grrr in swinger, baby!" a deliciously randy Powers coos near the beginning of The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), and if the imagination of Austin creator Mike Myers seems to have sagged a bit, his energy surely hasn't. This friendly, go-for-broke sequel finds our man Austin heading back to the '60s to keep perennial nemesis Dr. Evil (Myers again) from blowing up the world--and, more importantly, to get back his mojo, that man-juice that turns Austin into irresistible catnip for women, especially American spygirl Felicity Shagwell (a pretty but vacant Heather Graham). The plot may be irreverent and illogical, the jokes may be bad, and the scenes may run too long, but it's all delivered sunnily and with tongue firmly in cheek. Myers teams Dr. Evil with a diminutive clone, Mini-Me (Verne J. Troyer), then pulls a hat trick by playing a third character, the obese and disgusting Scottish assassin Fat Bastard.

this powers pack is a good deal. you can get the first 2 austin powers movies in 1. i got this a year ago and i still watch the movies all the time. they make fun of alot of spy movies. anybody who likes comedy should like this.

The sequel knocked it down a star.......2002-07-07

I can't believe I'm giving this only 4 stars because the first one is absolutely hilarious and hip. If you don't already know, "Austin Powers: International man of mystery" is about a swingin' secret agent/photographer from the 60's who's enemy is an actually childish villain named Dr. Evil. When Dr. Evil freezes himself so he can be revived sometime in the future, Powers does too so he can be ready for him. They are both unfrozen 30 years later in 1997. Austin is soon teamed up with his old sidekick's daugher, Vanessa Kensington who is not at all pleased when he repeatively askes if they can "shag". Mike Myers, who plays Austin, does is brilliantly; nobody could do it better. And wouldn't you know it? Myers plays Dr. Evil too! Dr. Evil personally is my favorite. Although he is trying to take over the world, he still loves his hairless (there were errors in the unfreezing process)cat, Mr. Bigglesworth. This movie is hilarious. If you watch Austin sometimes when he's talking, he makes these most outrageous faces that are just part of his character. Oh, and who can forget Dr. Evil's rebellion teenage son that was artificially created in a lab while he was frozen, Scott. (played by Seth Green) Dr. Evil tries to bond with his son... he even takes him to a group talk with other sons and fathers, until he has them liquidated. I'm not going to give away the end to the movie, but it must be pretty obvious that both Powers and Evil don't die because there's a sequel. And that reminds me why I only gave them 4 stars altogther. The sequel, although everyone returns except Elizabeth Hurley (who played Vanessa), it just simply isn't as funny. They took alot of the good jokes from the original and just used them again just in different ways. There is also some bathroom humor, if you can call it humor. That's just plain stupid. For instance, Austin thinks he's drinking some coffee, but he's actually drinking somebody's poop that the lab was testing. That's just sick. I mean, where's the clever jokes from before? An 8 year old could think that up. The sequel is good enough to see though, even good enough to buy (I did). No matter how dumb SOME of the jokes are, you can't help but wait to see Dr. Evil or Scott again. I'll probably see the 3rd, which is coming out soon. I just hope it's more like the first.

Both of the Austin Powers movies are hillarious. Mike Myers is one of the funniest people alive! And With Doctor Evil, Mini Me, Fat.......... ,Felicity Shagwell and Venessa Kensington it will be even hillarious evry time you watch it!

A CLASSIC IN ANY YEAR.......2005-05-05

This film was in theatres in 1964 and was well received. Tragically, today's culture in infested with rappers tomming in blackface. That does not mean that the battle has been lost. If this excellent film would be re-released, we would soon see the likes of 50 Centz and SnoopppDogggg disappear from the scene. When the Light shines in the darkness the darkness does not comprehend it.

I only read the book Black Like Me and I thought that he was very brave for doing what he did just to prove that black people are getting tried wrong and that we are all equal. I gave him 4 stars because he should have showed more details in the book and not just the stuff we already knew about.

Dated But Still Packs a Punch.......2004-05-25

For those of us of a certain generation, this was a seminal movie. It brought race relations to the fore in a way which Time Magazine articles or even newsreel footage of Civil Rights marchers being sprayed down by power hoses didn't.

The impact came, for me at least, from James Whitmore's understated, slow-burn performance. Nothing that dramatic happens to him in this movie. He's just shunted off incrementally, in one place or another, for no other reason than that he's passing himself off for black. It's really a Spencer Tracy acting turn, in a way. His transformation from weakling to adjudicator is akin to Tracy's in BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK.

The Bad guys are pretty much set up in a row. We also know who the good guy is. Hate to use the analogy, but things are presented in very black and white terms here. We know who the heroes and villains are. But the drama is in how it plays out. Whitmore learns lesson after painful lesson. The upshot is that his story and the film itself acts as a powerful exposé of the segregrationalist policies of the era. It made it a lot harder for the South to justify it's arcane drinking fountain, swimming pool, cafe-seating, bus-seating policies, in other words. One of the really important movies of the era, in other words, and one that should still be receiving kudos!

Great Perception.......2004-05-10

The movie was a great hit and especially the book because it was captivating my every movement. It taught me a lesson to be more aware of other cultures and it showed growth from a man different perspective.
