Burt Reynolds plays detective Steve Carella in this 1972 adaptation of an Ed McBain novel, and Jack Weston does his cynical best as Carella's partner, Meyer Meyer. A reflection of its raucous era, Fuzz is as much influenced by the antiauthority high jinks of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H as it is by the unblinking violence of The Godfather or Bonnie and Clyde. The mixed result is a tough-minded crime drama-comedy with one extreme subplot (punks setting sleeping winos ablaze for kicks) and another, more fantastic one (a mad bomber called Deaf Man, played by Yul Brynner, is targeting politicians with his surprise packages). Raquel Welch is also on board as an undercover/under-the-covers policewoman, and Tom Skerritt is the beneficiary of her largesse. Fuzz suffered some brief notoriety when it was linked to some real-life torchings of innocent people. On a happier note, Fuzz affords a rare opportunity to see Reynolds in drag. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars Best. Cop. Movie. Ever........2007-07-01

Not only is this movie *hilarious*, it's also an homage to police movies from noir to boom-boom, with a bit of "Shaun of the Dead" thrown in for good measure.

One minute you're hearing an echo from "Chinatown" ("Forget it, Nick...It's Sandford."), then you're hearing from SotD ("What, haven't you ever taken a short cut before?"), seeing action from "Point Break", and who'll ever forget the penultimate scene, complete with birds taking off, a la John Woo, in any of his action movies.

These guys took every cop movie cliche, put it into less than two hours, didn't demean the sources, made it funny *and* tense (my wife actually *screamed* at one scene), and ended up with a movie I'll see again and again.

Best. Movie. Ever.

5 out of 5 stars Hot Fuzz-- Simply Brilliant.......2007-06-23

There are some who have seen this film and said that it was full of gore, it was repetitive, and much too full of 'that hollywood stuff'. For those who feel this way--I'm afraid you've missed the point.

The point of this film is simply to, in a comedic way, blend the mundane story of an English Policeman, with the over-the-top 'explosions and guts' style of Hollywood; Hence the flower gardens and decapitation.

This isn't a Hugh Grant film- this is an Edgar Wright handmade, Bad Boys II meets Evil Dead II remix, wrapped around the genius of heterosexual life partners, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

It has explosions. It has guts. It has insanely long gun fights. And you know what? It also has one hell of a script; Borrowing from almost every cop movie ever made, it also manages to incorporate the unique quips and inside jokes belonging to Pegg and Wright.

By the power of Grayskull!

POSSIBLE SPOILER BELOW

Jokes range from a simple, yet effective 'Yarp', to a lengthy and surprising scene starring one Mr. David Bradley (Mr. Filch to you Potter fans) and one olympic mine.

Excellent comedy, suspensful horrorshow, and one hell of a show.

I recommend to all.

3 out of 5 stars Bloody mess.......2007-06-20

OK, at first I thought this was a slapstick type comedy, so I was not sure what to expect. At least - I thought - it would be in the same category as The Full Monty - English humor and great, authentic acting.

But, it looks like the Hollywood influence kept this movie from being as funny and and as entertaining as it could have been. The acting was okay, but the story should have been the strongest feature.

Instead the producers made it all about the blood and the violence. And I am not sure if I do not "get" the British humor in it, but I think that it could have been funny and witty without all the violence that went on and on and on.....

Again, maybe I just did not "get it" but I left the film feeling like it was a bloodgasm - rather than a real film. Have the English stooped that low - to compete with Hollywood?

5 out of 5 stars Hot Fuzz.......2007-06-18

Well done Brits. Again far more innovative and intelligently made movies that are far superior to the mass produced cheese we have sent out from Hollywood! Simon Pegg is a great example of how we should start looking to europe and educating ourselves in what the movie industry should be.

1 out of 5 stars Awful movie.......2007-06-15

Everything about his movie is crap. It's supposed to be funny but it's not, the story is idiotic and has been told a million times before in other movies, the acting is awful, and the movie has been edited like an MTV music video.

Shaun of the dead was average but this is really bad!!!

5 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud.......2007-06-27

A hilarious buddy-cop film with Britain's best buds, Pegg and Frost. Set in a perfect sleepy country town, the action and edge to the film couldn't be more surprising. Hilarious-and-yet-sinister locals, straightman cop, you have to laugh out loud at the interaction. If you liked "Shaun of the Dead," you will love this latest feature by quite a creative team.

Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He's so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so embarrassing - the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman, Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life "bad boy," and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for. Angel is quick to dismiss this as childish fantasy and Danny's puppy-like enthusiasm only adds to Angel's growing frustration. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality. It's time for these small-town cops to break out some big-city justice.

I saw this movie in theaters with a friend and we both loved it! The Climax and ending are excellent. The movie had a few jaw-dropping moments too as far as gore goes.I recommend seeing Shaun of the Dead first. If you have seen that and liked that movie then you will love Hot Fuzz. The movie is basically a parody of Cop Movies ( it pokes fun at bad boys and point break and some other famous cop movies )and Small towns....Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a great team.....

If you liked the non-stop jokes and action in the Police Academy series, you¹ll laugh to the full extent of the law watching Super Fuzz (aka Super Snooper). It¹s one of Terence Hill¹s (My Name is Trinity) all-time classics.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars NOT the Super Fuzz from the Early 80's US.......2007-04-14

When I think of the early eighties, I immediately remember Colecovision & Atari and Queen, but I also remember some of the movies that were on Cinemax/HBO in the old days of novelty cable TV. Super Fuzz was definitely one of those movies that bring back memories, along with Flash Gordon & several Chevy Chase comedies (Oh Heavenly Dog, Modern Problems, etc.). While the movies are pretty campy by today's standards, I still enjoyed them.

First off, someone else mentioned it but I feel the need to re-iterate it. This is Super Snooper. What horrendous packaging... the cover says "Super Fuzz" but the movie is actually Super Snooper. I was so disappointed after getting this as a birthday present. Hey, it woulda been a fantastic gift! But, as sad as this might sound, I remember the music to every scene as if I'd seen it yesterday, and from the very beginning when Terrence is in the swamp, it's pretty clear that this isn't the Super Fuzz version that aired in the USA. The music comes on at the wrong times and is far too redundant in the European/Canadian version. But having said all of this, the general movie is the same with the same thing, and it's about a policeman who gets exposed to radiation and uses his super-powers to try to stop a counterfit ring. Hilarious scenes include him running extremely fast through traffic, roughing up some thugs in a bar, and taking an unexpected trip to China.

If you can get the version seen in the USA in the early eighties, I'd actually recommend it. It might not be a 'masterpiece' to some, but I really enjoyed the movie and it brings back some great memories.

5 out of 5 stars I was wrong! This movie is widescreen!.......2007-03-20

I would like to apologize to Amazon. I complained about this version not being widescreen. I found out that I had to go into "setup" on my DVD controller and set it for 4:3 Letterbox. This will fix the problem everyone is having with the DVD playing in Fullscreen format.

It is true that this version is the Supersnooper version and not the Super Fuzz version. I have the Super Fuzz version on Fullscreen DVD and there are differences.

The plusses for the Supersnopper version: It is widescreen and a clean transfer. This version also has about five minutes of extra footage. The minuses: Some of the music is different in spots and some have said the commentary by Dave Speed is different in spots. I am not sure on that one, but I have only viewed it once so far.

The plusses for Super Fuzz version: It is the version I saw first and I am used to every scene and every musical note. The minuses: Fullscreen format makes the picture to cramped. Also the picture quality is not as good.

Bottom line: I need to keep both versions to be totally happy. What I want is for someone to release a version with all the scenes in it and leave the music as it was in the Super Fuzz version. Maybe that's not possible, but I can hope.

1 out of 5 stars NOT quite Super Fuzz as you remember it.......2007-03-11

So I finally received my copy today after eagerly waiting for it for several weeks. Having seen it a dozen times on Showtime in 1983, and subsequently purchased the same version of the film on VHS in the '90's, I am pretty familiar with this movie. That said, here's the lowdown on this latest DVD release:
* It suffers from PAL speedup, noticeable in the voices and music, despite the fact this is an R1 release
* Film is anamorphic widescreen, 1:85:1.
* Opening credits feature the title SUPER SNOOPER instead of SUPER FUZZ
* There are a few additional scenes featured in the movie, and some extended scenes
* The voice of Dave Speed is still Terence Hill's, but it seems like it is a different recorded track compared to the other version (i.e. different line readings in a few instances)
* Many, many music cues have been replaced with the standard Super Fuzz musical theme from the opening. Other music cues have disappeared, and several scenes that didn't have music cues at all now have the Super Fuzz theme added. The theme really wears out its welcome in this version, whereas in the other version it was used more sparingly. One horrifying example of music alteration occurs in the scene where Dave busts out of the electric chair, heads underwater and rescues the chief on the bubble gum balloon, the new music and sound cues are awful.
* Other voices of some of the supporting characters are completely different, such as those of Tony Torpedo's goons
* A few pieces of Hill's voice-over narration appear to be missing or altered
* The camera filter used to make the helicopter scene appear to be dusk is gone; scene now appears to be in bright daylight

On the positive side, the quality and clarity of the print looks better than I have ever seen it before.

Bottom line: this SUPER SNOOPER version was probably released in England and/or Canada in 1980, and is the cut of the film seen on this DVD. The SUPER FUZZ version that was released theatrically in the US in 1981 is the version we all remember from Showtime and the VHS and earlier DVD release. Clearly, as noted above, there are major differences and thus this DVD will disappoint many fans such as myself who have the previous versions.

On a side note, the extras are worthless. There are some production stills included, along with trailers and clips from other Terence Hill movies. No Super Fuzz trailer or director commentaries, contradicting what was stated in the specs on Amazon and other sites.

Buy this DVD only if you don't have the VHS or previous DVD release. Despite the improved picture quality, this version has too many differences that distracted me from enjoying it very much. I doubt I will watch this version ever again.

Hopefully another studio will put out a quality version of the film that we all love and remember.

1 out of 5 stars This Is NOT Super Fuzz. This is Super Snooper.......2007-03-07

I was so excited to finally have Super Fuzz on DVD in widescreen. Sadly my joy only lasted as long as it took me to unwrap the DVD. I was all giddy as the DVD started up. The menu screen looked fantastic and as soon as I hit play, it all went downhill. At first I was amazed at the movie in widescreen, and then it happened. The main title of the movie came up SUPER SNOOPER. My heart sank deep into my chest. Super Snooper is what the movie is called in Europe and sure enough, the version of the film on this DVD is the super bizarro UK version that I already have on a DVD I imported from England.

A note to anyone reading, THIS IS NOT THE SUPER FUZZ YOU WATCHED AS A KID. This version of the movie is full of odd extra scenes. That sounds like a plus, but what absolutely kills this version of the movie is the fact that the voiceovers are completely different. Aside from Ernest Borgnine, just about everyone's voice is different from the US version. Most offensively are the voices of Paradise (who sounds like a stereotypical bad guy from Mexico, a banditio if you will) and the main character himself, Dave Speed.

Maybe I'm just being too picky, but I simply cannot watch this version of Super Fuzz. I want the version I'm so familiar with, I want the US version! I will admit that the picture quality on this DVD is fantastic. I never thought Super Fuzz could look this good. But I will probably never watch this version ever again, so all the picture quality in the world doesn't really mean much. There was some weird pseudo-bootleg version of Super Fuzz for sale on Amazon a year or so ago. I have that and although the picture quality leaves a lot to be desired, at least the movie on it is actually Super Fuzz and not Super Snooper. If I were you, I'd hunt around for that version.

1 out of 5 stars Love The Movie - Hate The Transfer!!.......2007-03-06

As a prior reviewer mentioned, the DVD case says "Widescreen," but what's in the package is full screen. What's more, it seems like the picture is slightly stretched lengthwise! I tried this DVD on three different players and they produced the same result. I'm thinking there was a screwup at the processing house. I saw a review at IMDB that says their copy is widescreen while another review says theirs is not. What's the deal?

Description

With "razor-bright wit" (Newsweek) and "an excellent cast" (Variety), including Burt Reynolds (Boogie Nights), Raquel Welch (Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult), Tom Skerritt (Contact) and Yul Brynner (The King and I), this uproarious comedy about an incompetent police force is an absolute laugh riot! Adapted from the satirical 87th Precinct mysteries, Fuzz is "a slick police thriller" (Los Angeles Times) so rip-roaringly funny it would bea crime not to see it. The plain-clothesed policemen of Boston's 87th Precinct are armed and dangerousand the streets just aren't safe from their bumbling detective work! And when a mysterious extortionist begins carrying out his fiendish scheme to assassinate prominent city officials,no tactic is too outrageous for this goofy, ham-fisted squad who will stop at nothing to solve the high-profile case. But can these dim-witted detectives muster the skill to save their leadersor will the city fall into the grip of a ruthless, diabolical madman?

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Classic Fuzz.......2007-01-19

This is a classic movie in its genre. If you spent any time in Boston or worked in the justice system in the 60's, you should enjoy this one immensely.

1 out of 5 stars No 'Cop And A Half'.......2005-12-28

Oh I see? because I likes Cop And A Half I'll just automatically fork out my hard earned wages on any old rubbish Mr Reynolds puts his name to. I wasn't born yesterday you know!

4 out of 5 stars Action in Beantown.......2005-08-24

A lot of action and a lot of humor is well represented in this movie about the Boston Police Department trying to solve a crime network led by a "deaf" man played by Yul Brynner. The portrayal of Boston police officers is typical of real Boston police officers where one would find a non-English speaker trying to communicate with a desk sergeant as the precinct was undergoing repainting - apple green? - and wet paint splattering all over desks and paperwork as two sarcastic painters hamper the duties of officers who later get into trouble with theft.

Burt Reynolds stars as Steve "Fuzz" Carella who leads the case. Raquel Welch stars as Eileen McHenry who, also, was involved in the case. The amazing thing is that you never see Reynolds and Welch together since, in reality, Welch disliked Reynolds because of some derogatory comment he made that offended her, so while at the precinct or on the case you always saw them separately.

One of the best scenes was the phone tapping complete with Italian-speakers and a suspicious caller who didn't want to discuss anything over the phone. It was in this scene when a telephone man made a racial slur that resulted in him getting punched in another room which you don't see, although the door is open.

A very good movie that is worth watching.

5 out of 5 stars Early FUZZ feature -a Sleeper setting pace for TV cop shows!.......2000-10-18

FUZZ is a forgotten classic.Reynolds is just one of the stars, not the only one in this fun movie. Sets the pace for the early TV cop shows to come. Welch is beautiful and all the cast are wonderful.Edited for TV, the original feature movie had Detectives Skerrit and Welch in a sleeping bag scene in a park as man and wife, as they wait for a crook to show up. She says,"wow, is that your gun?" Another scene when a telephone man is putting in a tap for a black detective and says to him."Yeah, you are a pretty good Ni....,unlike so many others I have known." That is a shocker , especially at the time of the release..the black detective follows the phone man off camera and and you hear a smack, and knockout blow. And Brynner as the main thug boss and Detective chief Jack Weston are both suprises. Fast moving with lots of things going on and one of my all time favorites that was originally slammed when originally released. If you haven't seen it, you are in for a treat!(--and be sure to keep your eye on the painters!)

4 out of 5 stars A must see for fans of the "87th Precinct"........1999-08-25

Ed McBain's long running series of mystery novels (from 1957 to this year!) about the quirky cops of an inner city precinct comes to glorious life in this movie.Quite funny in places, with suprising spurts of violence, a very well done movie!Note: When this movie aired on ABC back in the 70's, it recieved a lot of flack for inspiring a real-life violent incident in Boston, causing more nattering about the "violence on TV".

i gave this 3 stars because my boys like this movie, just as i did growing up,but it doesn't hold up very well to me now. still a nice family movie with nothing to bad for kids to see.

    5 out of 5 stars Finally Found.......2006-02-17

In the early 1980's HBO would play this movie as often as they possibly could, it seemed. That was fine with me, I was a young child and this movie would capture my interest every time. Years later I was lucky enough to find a used VHS in bad condition in a video rental store, but wanted to see it again so badly that I purchased it off of their shelf. It was worth it. The tape broke shortly thereafter and I have been searching for it on DVD for a long time. Finally I found it on Amazon.com and to be honest, I debated about the price. Did I really want to spend over $20 for a movie made well over 20 years ago? I decided to make the purchase, and I have to say, the movie is as great as I remember. Very worth the price. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes superhero type films, or perhaps even comedy.

This is Volume One. Let's hope there is a Volume 2 ahead. The DVD covers the US and Canada and features videos by: Chesterfield Kings / Fuzztones / Miracle Workers / Yard Trauma / Gruesomes / 10 Commandments / Fortune & Maltese / Cynics / Untamed Youth / Girl Trouble / Jonny Chan & The New Dynasty 6 / Plasticland / Freddy & the Four-Gone Conclusions / Woggles / Les Breastfeeders / Marshmallow Overcoat. There is a short documentary that is a very general overview of garage/psychedelic music. This compilation covers the US and Canada from 1980 to the present. If you're a fan, you should be able to name hundreds more bands that should have been included. This DVD also includes a HTML version of the out of print 'Knights of Fuzz' book and some MP3s. This is really worth getting and i hope Dionysus Records releases more DVDs in the series.

In Shaun of the Dead, it was the zombie movie and the anomie of modern life. In Hot Fuzz, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg set their sights on the buddy cop blockbuster and the eccentric English village. The two worlds collide when overachieving London officer Nicholas Angel (Pegg) is promoted to sergeant. The catch is that he's being transferred to Agatha Christie country. His superiors (the comic trifecta of Martin Campbell, Steve Coogan, and Bill Nighy) explain that he's making the rest of the force look bad. On the surface, Sandford is a sleepy little burg where the most egregious crimes, like loitering, are committed by hoody-sporting schoolboys. In truth, it's a hotbed of Willow Man-style evil. Upon his arrival, Chief Butterman (Jim Broadbent) partners Angel with his daft son, Danny (Nick Frost, Pegg's Shaun co-star), who aspires to kick criminal "arse" like the slick duo in Bad Boys II. When random citizens start turning up dead, he gets his chance. With the worshipful Danny at his side, Angel shows his cake-eating colleagues how things are done in the big city. As in Shaun, their previous picture, Wright and Pegg hit their targets more often than not. With the success of that debut comes a bigger budget for car chases, shoot-outs, and fiery explosions. Though Hot Fuzz earns its R-rating with salty language and grisly deaths, the tone is more good-natured than mean-spirited. A wall-to-wall soundtrack of boisterous British favorites, like the Kinks, T-Rex, and Sweet, contributes to the fast-paced fun. --Kathleen C. Fennessy

      5 out of 5 stars Hot Fuzz.......2007-06-06

Nicholas Angel (Pegg) is a perfect cop. So go that he has been transferred from London to the town of Sandford. He is making them look bad, and they want him out of their hair. Upon arrival, he brings big city justice to the small town, until his superior, Inspector Frank Butterman (Broadbent) encourages him to relax a bit. Angel is partnered with the inspector's son, Danny (Frost), an enthusiastic cop who isn't really that good. He is fascinated with Angel and the stories he shares. A sudden rash of deaths in Sandford are put off by the inspector as accidents, but Angel fears something more is happening, and feels that Simon Skinner (Dalton), the local grocery store owner, is behind it. Angel must get to the bottom of what is going on in Sandford, and find out if Skinner really is the bad guy.

"Hot Fuzz" is an excellent and very funny movie. Pegg and Frost are hilarious together, playing off each other with ease. There is a long setup that pays off with a final 30 minutes packed with action. "Hot Fuzz" lampoons the action genre with great skill, and unlike most action movies, there is real character development that makes us care for the duo at the heart of the movie. Dalton, as the apparent bad guy, seems to be savoring every moment of his screen time. He is delightfully evil, and about as far from his James Bond days as he has ever been. The supporting cast is also excellent. The only drawback is that the movie runs a little too long. Still, those looking for a smart, funny action-comedy will not be disappointed with "Hot Fuzz".

5 out of 5 stars definately one of, if not the most quality movie i've seen in a theater.......2007-05-22

honestly, my expectations of hot fuzz were low upon seeing that it was a cop oriented movie from the commercials, but then again, i forgot that it was simon pegg and nick baker behind it for a second. the movie blew me away to say the least.

first, we get introduced to nicholas angel who is this "take no BS cop." when he gets assigned to a countryside village, the fun starts to happen..i would compare the movie to even a little Dario Argento mystery mixed with the original Wicker Man....im not going to try to spoil it at all, but this movie should be a riot...i personally would say it is as good as Shaun of the Dead..i dont think i should be comparing to Shaun personally, but yeah...it was also great to see Timothy Dalton again. (Bond Fan)

yep, this one is a definate "add to cart" when the dvd is available for preorder.

      5 out of 5 stars Explosive Fun.......2007-05-17

I wish my review could do this movie justice, but I'm just so darn excited about how good this film is that I can't write coherently.

Hot Fuzz is the best movie I have seen this year.
The second-best movie was the other time I saw Hot Fuzz.
Yes; I've seen it twice already, and it's so good might make it a third. (As other reviewers have mentioned, there are lots of puns and such that you might miss the first time through.)

If you are a fan of action flicks or buddy comedies you will like this movie. Just like Shaun of the Dead spoofed zombie movies, Hot Fuzz spoofs the cop/buddy-flick action movie.

From a technical side of things the sound design and editing are amazing. The script and delivery of the lines are stellar. The special effects are incredibly well done. The choice of camera angles are genius at times. Sometimes it's to pay homage to another movie, (that helicopter-over-the-head shot - Bad Boys, much?) other times it's their own creativity shining through.

The team that brought you Shaun of the Dead proves that it was not a one-off fluke; they can make good films. 5 friggin' stars for genius and almost making me fall out of my chair from laughing.

4 out of 5 stars "Forget it Nick... it's Sandford" .......2007-05-14

****This review may cointain possible spoilers****

I have not seen "Shaun of the Dead" and can't compare the two but I am sure that "Hot Fuzz" is screamingly funny. The contrast between the first hour of a gentle comedy and the second part with the outrageous twists and turns and bizarre jaw-dropping events is hilarious by itself. The idea of keeping the picturesque sleepy charming village of Sandford the safest and the most perfect place in the country no matter what even if not original was clever. Two main characters, Simon Pegg as Nicholas Angel, the finest cop London ever seen but could not take for too long and Nick Frost as Danny Butterman, Angel's partner in Sanford, the loyal Sancho Panza to Angel's Don Quixote, are great together because the film took its time to develop their relationship and to make them real and interesting enough to root for them. There are not just the references to and the parodies of the big budget American actions flicks. No, if you look closer, you'll find the homage even to a Woody Allen's film and to the works of John Waters -"Serial Dad", anyone? The acting is universally good and for me the movie that stars Jim Broadbent, Martin Campbell, Steve Coogan, Bill Nighy and my favorite Mr. 007, Timothy Dalton is definitely worth watching. Oh, I almost forgot - there is a very compelling performance by a swan!

IMO, the creators got a little carried away in the final part and made it a little too long but "Hot Fuzz" is still one of the funniest comedies I've seen in a long time and I don't remember the last time I was laughing in the theater so hard and so loud

4 out of 5 stars 'Fuzz' is Hot.......2007-05-14

It's only May and I'm pretty damn sure 'Hot Fuzz' is going to wind up as one of my favorite films of 2007. It's a British send-up of big, loud buddy-cop action flicks from the people who made 'Shaun of the Dead' a few years ago. However, where you had to really think about 'Shaun' before you saw the depth of its amusement, 'Fuzz' is more straight-forward funny, forgoing droll British humo(u)r in favo(u)r of razor-sharp dialogue, fantastic character comedy, delicious black wit and, best of all, some of the most hysterically over-the-top action scenes I've ever seen. And yet, even it as it mocks modern blow-em-up pictures, the creators' fan-boy affection for them is endearingly clear, and the fact that the story is both a parody and a straight cop story makes it all that much better. Go see it while it's still an alternative to the summer onslaught. I can honestly say it's the funniest thing I've seen in a theater since the great 'Borat,' and it's the kind of funny that lasts, tickling your memory, inspiring great conversations and creating a burning desire to know the DVD release date.
