Based on the video game, Street Fighter II: the Animated Movie (1994) is the first feature in the popular continuity that includes a second animated film, a TV series, an OAV, and a live-ction feature. With physiques that Mr. Olympia would envy and moves that would shame Bruce Lee, Ryu and Ken Masters rank as the world's greatest martial artists. The minimal plot exists only as a framework for the over-the-top martial arts battles. Director Gisaburo Sugii stages many of the fights at night in an effort to heighten the drama, but the results are so dark, it's difficult to see what's going on. Fans of the series complain--justifiably--that the English voices sound stiff and hokey, although the dialogue is hopelessly silly. NOT SF MOVIE.......2007-06-22
Why does this (Soul Power), and SF II: The Animated Movie have the same reviews? They are two different things. All the reviews here are for the animated movie. SOUL POWER IS NOT THE MOVIE!!!! It is simply season 2 of the American animated Street Fighter series shown on the USA network in the 90's. C'mon, people.
Anyway, this series isn't nearly as good as any of the Japanese anime, even Street Fighter II: V. But hey, if you're an SF fan, and you want some change or even just to see what it's like, go ahead and pick this, up. But don't forget to pick up Season 1 first! It's called Code of Honor.
Street Fighter .......2007-05-12
I have been looking for the original Japanese version for years. Now I have both on the same disk. Its great!!!
Street Fighter II The Animated Movie.......2007-03-11
If you liked the Street Fighter games and you like Animation. This is the movie for you. This movie has great animation and a Awesome soundtrack!!! It's the classic final battle of good and evil!
The Best Video Game Movie Ever Made.......2007-02-14
Street Fighter II The Movie is hands down the best movie made that was based on a video game. Without compromising anything that was great about the fighting game they managed to create a feature length film that connects all of the games many characters. Its great to finally own this film without any of the censorship that occured in the previous releases. My only complaint is that its not anamorphic widescreen, really in this day and age is it really that hard to add this simple feature for widescreen TV's? Must I watch this film on my beautiful LCD HDTV as a small square in the middle of a big 40" screen? Lazy work on the part of Manga. Great film, decent DVD release that is ruined because it lacks one simple feature.
Non-stop action packed anime classic from the 90's!.......2006-08-17
An international terrorist organization that specialized in drug dealing and crimewaves called Shadowlaw is ran by the ruthless and powerful M. Bison has been searching for the best fighter of all time for years. Until now, he has found a wondering karate expert named Ryu who travels around the world and is the greatest fighter to ever unknownly grace the world and wants to capture him with the other champion fighters of the world so he can use them to conquer the world, it's up to U.S. Airforce fighter Guile, Chinese fighting beauty Chun-Li, Ryu and American martial arts expert Ken to join forces to battle against Shadowlaw and M. Bison.
Superbly animated and action packed Japanese animated action flick is based on the popular game from Capcom is definitely one of the best anime movies of the 90's next to "Ghost in The Shell", "Ninja Scroll", "Perfect Blue", "Princess Mononoke" and "Porco Russo". It's so much better than the abominable 1994 live-action movie which tainted the name of "Street Fighter" nearly, there's plenty of explosive action here and some nudity like the ever-so gorgeous Chinese chick Chun-Li in the shower showing off her knockers, this entertaining anime action romp is definitely one of the best animated action flicks ever.
This new DVD has good remastering on the picture and sound quality with widescreen presentation for the first time! there's two versions on both sides such as the extended English dubbed U.K. version with never-before scenes in America and has the KMFDM soundtrack and the original Japanese language extended version with never-before-seen footage in America, there's UK trailers, interactive player cards, trailers to other Manga releases and the DVD also contains an exclusive comic book.
Get this movie if you love Japanese animation! ranks up there with "Akira", "Ghost in The Shell", "Ninja Scroll", "Fist of the North Star", Hayao Miyzaki's flicks and "Vampire Hunter D".

Great Retake On An Anime Classic.......2006-10-11
On the heels of the success of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie came Street Fighter II V! A series of 30 minute episodes recounting the adventures of a teenage Ken Masters and his friend from Japan Ryu.
While not directly connected to the popular animated film, it could've easily been a prelude to it as many of the things that happen during this series later happened in the film or were recounted in the film (by film I mean the animated movie, not that awful Van Damne live action flick from 1994)!
Anyway, back to the series, Ken and Ryu meet up for the first time in years when Ken invites Ryu to come to America to see him. From there, they embark on a worldwide journey to meet the best fighters and learn from them. Along the way, they learn what it means to be a true martial artist and that it doesn't always mean having the best punch or the fastest kick. I am not much on the moral stuff but some good life lessons are noted here. Nothing preachy but noted.
We also meet a very young but still pretty Chun Li and her childhood friend Fei Long (while I do like the character of Fei Long, no one is going to tell me he ISN'T copy of the late Bruce Lee, abeit a VERY GOOD copy). We also meet Sagat prior to his days of working for Bison and Shadowlaw as well as Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, Zangief and Cammie. Guile also makes an appearance and we see why he hates Bison so much in this piece. We've heard the story of why he has it in for the Shadowlaw leader but this is the first time (that I know of) that it is actually shown. I won't give it away for those that haven't seen this version of the series but it is very telling.
As for the action, it is very good! Not quite the level of the animated movie but still very good! Overall, a very good buy!
Loved it!.......2006-10-09
I completely loved it. It's pretty much a fun dvd collection to watch. BTW, Wal-Mart is selling this for $20!
not bad.......2006-07-10
this is a good series, the only complaint i could say about it is it doesnt really feel like the street fighter i know from the games. its a great anime, great fighting, and exciting to watch, i just kinda expected something different after playing the games. also i got this at suncoast movies for 40 bucks, kind of over priced on here
Over-rated!!! .......2006-05-29
They made it way to drawn out and repetitive. I mean literally repetitive. They play the same clips over and over and over to the point that you wish you never started watching this collection. I estimate that there is 45 full minutes of Ryu charging his Hadoken. They didn't even bother doing different animations for this 45 minutes of repetition. I mean it's the SAME exact scene played over and over throughout the series in slo-mo. They also repeated the other scenes over and over making me so angry that I wanted to throw the frisbie dvd's out my window. The storyline is not great at all. They do not stick to the integrity of SF2. I don't know why so many people liked it (they are probably little kids who never played SF2 in the arcades. I would have given it 3 stars if they took out every repeated scene and the slo-motion which would have made it into a 4 hour movie instead of a 14.5 hour disaster. SF2 generations and SF2 alpha are SO much better. These movies are tailored for an older audience, and do not stray from the game storyline too much. If you are 13 and don't know much about the REAL SF2 story, and love DBZ I highly recomend this to you. For all the others, watch the two movies I mentioned above. My favorite is Alpha (the plot is kinda like the new star wars), but generations has some awesome fighting scenes (especially the first one).
Good enough for the casual fan........2006-01-31
Street Fighter 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I have yet to see an anime that has done it justice. The Animated movie came the closest, this series is second, First of all, having Ryu and Ken (and Chun Li) as teens (completely ripped and skilled at that) was a bit of a put off, but I got over that quick enough. The main problem is that they exhaust most of their good ideas early on and it starts to become a redundant mess towards the end. Guile and Charlie endless running up and down those stairs. Chun Li getting choked and Bison grinning and laughing for like, 3 whole episodes. Ryu needs a whole DVD to charge his fireball. Sagat is a good guy. Cammy's scene takes too long. Etc, etc. They get bogged down and things get stretched out DBZ style for far too long and too many characters get neglected. Ryu, Ken and then later Guile and Fei Long get the best fight scenes. Chun Li only gets one and she's not even in her right mind when it happens. The other characters are only touched upon, and a few, like E. Honda and Blanka are absent. You can tell money was getting tight towards the end, because there is a whole lot of standing around, repeated scenes and recaps. Probably only deserves a 2, but it is Street Fighter after all.

This crappy cheesy USA Street Fighter YUCK!.......2006-06-08
The japanese DID NOT make this series the Americans did. They just messed it all up the animation is too childish the characters look different. Their is no blood, profanity, or nudity. The action is not even hardcore. I really hate the fact that Guile is the main character instead of Ryu. I am ashamed of this so greatest in the world. Why would advfilms would want to waste their time owning the rights to this junk I thought they only stick to anime and trust me this is not anime.
A Disgrace to a Great Game and Animated Moive.......2004-04-13
I thought the animation was terrible. This was nothing like the animation done for the other Street Fighter movies. They were too "kiddie like." The story lines were horrible also. If you liked the other animated Street Fighter movies, then you will hate THIS collection. It was not what i expected at all!!! Invest in the street fighter 2 V collection, that is worth the money! Much better animation nd closer to what you would expect after watching the Movies. 2 THUMBS DOWN for both Soul Powers AND Code of Honor!!!
Street Fighter, or Gi-Joe?.......2004-03-09
I'm a street fighter fanatic! I've loved the concept since the original Street Fighter Arcade Game (the impossible to play one with the large buttons you had to smash, and the impossible to pull off special moves, Street Fighter II was a piece of cake in comparison).
I bought this because I was hoping to get a more complete collection, and I'm not entirely dissapointed...
Though it is quite true to the video game, it's very much the same style as the 1980's Gi-Joe... which means that if you're used to anime (like the Otaku I am) you might be a little dissapointed.
USA Networks Version.......2003-04-22
Okay so many of you probably have never seen this series. The quality of the DVD is great. But of course, this is the series that was on USA Networks on cable. Do not get this series mixed up with the Japanese version of Street Fighter.
There are major differences. The first one is storyline is based on the horrid Van Damn movie of Street Fighter. Which means that the Street Fighters are police under cover to save the universe. Second difference is Guile is the main character not Ryu!
I would consider this for my collection regardless. ADV Films bought the rights to this movie attempting to capture the Robotech, Transformers generation. They did a great job of marketing it to them. I ended up buying this DVD. It's not the best anime nor is it even Japanese, but I had to get it since I watched it growing up as a kid.
15 episodes for $...? I figured its cheap enough to watch.

Weaker end to a great series.......2005-09-30
What bogs this finale off is that it's just too long and it's split over several episodes. You never feel like you're getting anywhere with them and when something interesting happens it ends with a cliffhanger. Plus the use of flashbacks goes waaaay to far with one episode being almost entirely made up of old footage. Come on, man. We're not that dumb, we know how the story went.
Storywise, this DVD ends the series with Ryu and Ken taking on Bison on his island fortress while Guile and Nash try to rescue them. Elsewhere Cammy and Balrog clash over the assassination of Inspector Dorai. It's lively enough but can someone tell me how Ken's fatal wounds from the previous episodes miraculously healed in the space of a few hours? And despite the music being of the ususal cool standard there are few scenes, particularly the one where Ken and Ryu are forced to fight each other, where it becomes the most innappropriate supermarker muzak ever.
And what became of Bison at the end? Or Chun Li? Not a good denouement at all. It's a shame such a great show had to end on a weaker note.
Great ending to a fantastic series.......2003-01-09
As per usual , audio and video quality of the 8 episodes contained on this last volume of Street Fighter II V are excellent.
Concerning the story , I agree with other reviewers that the plot could have been reworked to allow all the characters a chance to develop sufficiently. But there is tons of actions and well-acted drama.
One big problem is the constant re-use of footage from past episodes..but I guess they were on a tight budget.
The music is fantastic ...to the skeptics, that j-pop music that plays during the dramatic scenes do work really well.
Extras are decent , but they could have added more trailers or some conceptual sketches.
And they should have left in the original intro and ending music...slag the techno remix!
8.5(rating for excitement).......2003-01-02
Volume 4 of Street fighter II V is awesome...The animation is normal but the people are too tall and too bulky other than the video game and such...The action is very good and keeps you watching the series,at least every 5 minutes there is either action or something going on...The plot is good except the issue with Chunli, the series has much more blood and violence than SF2 the animated movie...I reccomend buying this if you like ninja stuff, action, dragonball z and so fourth.
A Sad Volume for a Series that had Potential.......2001-08-20
Volume 4 is the worst anime I've seen in the SFII series, and is almost entirely a waste of money. Aside from the first and last episode of this volume, original footage was scarce. I felt it was almost a rehashing of the story line from the last volume. I had to skip or fast forward alot of the material to keep interest. I found it very bad quality when in important scenes, such as where Ryu and Ken are about to fight, to be complemented by elevator music. Overall a very bad volume; with reasons stated above also the development of Ki for Ken was just awkward.
S.F.IIV is awsome!.......2001-04-10
It is like they say, S.F. IIV is by far the best martial art anime based on a video game.Unfortunally most of the martial art anime base on video games aren't very accepted by the fans because it doesn't follow the same story line as they does in the game making it lose its bright in the anime businness.S.F. absolutelly passed the test although it is kind of different from the games story line. The animation for this anime is great and the action scenes are awsome.Buy it and see for your self that S.F. in anime can be the same as awsome and fun as in the video game.I was impress when I first watched it,it is by far one of the best fighting anime ever.

No sign of slipping here.......2005-09-12
Still the SF II V story becomes more complex and involving. Despite being 7 episodes long, the bulk of the story on this DVD takes place in one night as Ryu, Ken and Chun Li encounter Vega and Bison in a Spanish castle during a really shady dinner party and the murky plot thickens even more.
The fight scenes are still hard-hitting and every 'set-piece' totally gripping. With so much going on there is never a dull moment in either of these episodes. Cammy is also introduced halfway through.
The DVD is in 1.33:1 full frame, as drawn, with Dolby Stereo sound. Chapter stops are non-existant, or just limited to episode beginnings. Extras are just fluff trailers. Anyone who has the first 2 DVDs will have this one already so I guess there's no point in telling you to go out and get it right away.
SF2V!.......2001-09-07
Wat are you waiting for! Go Purchaseit!I alreadyam getting it this week! Don't be a foo go buy the whole series On DVD!
Volume 3, the best?.......2001-08-08
I have seen all four volumes of Street Fighter II V, and have to SF2 Volume 3 is probably the best. For one, The fight scene between Ken and Vega is the best because it is the most violent fight and both characters are evenly matched in my opinion. In addition, Vega's character is fully developed, he is an excellent villian by being psycho. Also, Cammy makes her first cameo appearance.
Don't expect the movie Quality..........2001-06-02
I bought this DVD and while I am a fan of Street Fighter (Grew up on it and my dad owns an amusement company so I got to play the real thing =P)I hated the Series. This volume was the only one I picked up since they had it and vol 4 at circuit city and I'd never seen the SF Series so I decided to check it out. Here goes what to watch out for if You're considering buying it.What I expected was a quality around the area of the SWEET SF 2 Animated Movie (Buy it),this was not.The animation is odd looking in parts,I don't like the Voice acting (That's what Japanese Subbed is for) and this DVD Is hella fuzzy in picture quality.I was surprised to see the other good reviews but I guess It's a pretty good DVD If You've seen the series. But whatever you do,DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING NEAR THE MOVIE QUALITY,and try and rent before you buy on this one if you're a newbie to the series.
Fantastic and amazing!.......2001-05-28
I would like to say that this animated movie would only be recomended to people who are fan of SF.The plot of this movie is kind of slow and the animation looks a little old but everything else is great. As a big fan of Street Fighter I was paying to much attention to the development of all the characters in the story and not too much attention to the plot. The action scenes are great and bloody. To much blood makes me sick. The fight between ken and Vega(Balrog)was too long and too bloody.I really don't know how ken could survive after losing all that blood.Anyways,I don't want to give details about the fight but it was good. The appearence of cammy in the story gave it a lot more sense and beauty. That girl really know how to steal the attention of everyone. This movie diserve a 4 or a 3 if it wasn't for the action scenes and for Cammy :) but as these two things were included in the movie it diserves a 5 for sure.Buy it,it is really cool!Another thing, don't spet to see the orginal opening and closing theme from the serie.I don't know why did they had to change the music,I was sad when I watched it and didn't heard that fantastic music :(

Boring, and unrelated to the game........2005-08-31
I'm actually surprised so many people have given SF2V pretty high ratings. I'm a hardcore Street Fighter fan, and was VERY disappointed with this anime. I was expecting this anime to stay true to the game like SF 2: The Animated Movie did, but unfortunately, SF 2V has very little to do with the game.
Ryu has spiked hair, and if not for the fact that he is called "Ryu" in the series, you'd never guess that he is the Ryu of the game. In fact, a lot of characters that are supposed to be from the game, look nothing like their SF 2V counterparts. The worst is Charlie Nash. If you're familiar with the game, and see Charlie Nash in the SF 2V anime, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Apparently, Ken is a red head (not blonde like the game) and his mother is Japanese! We learn this little revelation pretty early on.. yes, the all-American, blonde haired Ken that SF fans have known for nearly two decades is now a red head and is apparently half-Japanese.. talk about absurd.
I don't want to give away spoilers, but Gouken (Ryu and Ken's Master according to the game's storyline) is never mentioned, and in SF 2V, he isn't the one who teaches Ryu and Ken the Hadou.
The animators also screwed up on the "Dragon Punch", which is one of Ryu and Ken's trademark moves. In the game, if the right arm is performing the punch, then the right leg is up; instead, in SF 2V, if the right arm is performing the punch, the right leg is down..! They couldn't draw the Dragon Punch right, at the very least!
If this weren't all bad enough, the there is an occasional implication that Ryu and Ken are "more than just friends" if you know what I mean.
The animation is very low quality for an anime, and pals in comparison to SF 2: the Animated Movie. The music is very low quality, and is more like elevator music. The dialogue just plain sucks, and the characters overact their parts a lot. The fight scenes aren't nearly as intense as they are in SF 2: The Animated Movie, because sound effects and implied hits seem to make up the bulk of the fighting.
Overall, it would have been better if this series had no relation to the SF franchise.
Actually quite good.......2005-06-27
I bought all 4 of these DVDs some time ago and only started to watch them now. I liked the Street Fighter II animated movie but I was put off watching this one as I wasn't too keen on Street Fighter Zero, even if this series is directed by Gisaburo Sugii who did Street Fighter II (as well as the brilliant Night on the Galactic Railroad). How is that for confusing?
What makes this better than the rather dour Street Fighter Zero is that it has a pretty good sense of humor, great fight scenes, interesting plots and the occasional moment of cartoonish goofiness. Each episode is made up of a brand new adventure as Ken and Ryu travel the world, getting into mischief. A simple formula, but it works.
Since the show is from the mid-nineties the animation isn't as smooth as more recent stuff, but you shouldn't let that ruin your enjoyment. The only thing I can complain about is the opening credit sequence, which just takes too long.
The DVD is in 1.33:1, as originally drawn with Dolby Stereo sound. Extras are limited to a few Manga trailers.
Boring, and has little relationship to the game.......2004-10-19
I never watched the entire run of the show, because the first few episodes; the ones represented on this DVD, were phenomenally boring.
Probably the biggest reason for this is that the game bears very little resemblance to the game at all. The characters have all been reimagined, and not in a good way. A lot of the distinctiveness and personality of the original characters was lost in this translation. In fact, the entire show feels very little like the game, which begs the question: why bother getting the license to do it as Street Fighter if you're not going to stay true to the Street Fighter feel and characters?
ideal.......2003-07-20
First of all, I'd just like to start off by saying how sorry I am that I have to give this DVD four stars instead of five. The reasons are the following:
- The animation and art quality of this series is kinda bad...although at times it will look great, most of the times the characters keep changing how they look- sometimes they look buff, other times they look thin and ugly, other times they look stupid... as if the artists were always taking turns drawing.
- At times, the DVD color will screw up a little. Though, not really a major problem after you get used to it, but in the beginning, it might become very annoying.
- The biggest flaw in the DVD- They took away the intro theme song(Kaze fuiteru- which, btw, is the best anime song I'v ever heard by far.) and video, and they also took out the ending theme. These were replaced by a techno like theme which is ok, but I'd much rather have Kaze Fuiteru instead.
- Even though the Japanese voices are the perfect choice for the characters, sometimes they're moving their lips and instead we will either listen to laughing(which wont match the lips) or nothing at all...
But, now for the pluses of this wonderful series and DVD:
- The japanese voices are P E R F E C T for every single character, even the Director of Fei Long's movie. I specially like Chun- Li's voice, which is as cute as you can get.
- The english voices are OK...although at times I feel like Manga only casted these voices for their battle cries and yelling. Ken and Chun- Li's battle cries are pretty good, but their voices are awful, they dont match the characters at all.
Fei Long's voice is good, although his Bruce Lee like yelling during his fight with Ken was not Bruce Lee at all...more like a high pitched rip off of the american Fei Long voice in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
Ryu and Guile's voice are excellent. If I'm not mistaken, they are the same voices from SFII, which is very pleasing, as I loved Guile's voice in the animated movie aswell.
In the american dub, they also change around alot of the things the japanese voices are saying, and sometimes they even add words where they shouldn't be. This doesn't bother me, though.
- The DVD has seven episodes. This is great, because the VHS only had three.
- It contains a trailer of various Manga Animes(which is pretty cool if you enjoy anime), including the trailer to the series.
- It contains a catalogue of Manga Anime.
- It has the intro theme song remix- I'd still prefer Kaze Fuiteru, or Cry.
- The character development is great. The characters are really unique, and you'll end up either loving them, or hating them.
- The fights are superb- specially Fei Long vs Ken and Ryu vs Guile. AWSOME FIGHTS.
- The music. The music which plays during the fights and such is really catchy and enjoyable.
Overall, if you like Anime, Martial Arts, or Street Fighter, this DVD is for you!
I cant wait to recieve Volume 2, which I will order in a couple of days.
Street Fighter and martial arts fans will love this........2003-06-04
If you are a martial arts, Street Fighter or anime fan, you should do yourself a favor and pick up Street Fighter II V. I am a fan of all three and my enjoyment with this DVD was very high. I like how they retold the Street Fighter mythos, instead of just rehashing the same story from the video games. I think Ryu and Ken are very interesting people and there adventures moved at such an exciting and fast pace, I couldn't stop watching until the entire DVD was over.
The first volume is my favorite. The first episode really gets you on Ryu and Ken's side and you can't wait to see how they will become world class street fighters.
The animation was great, especially the martial arts sequences. I really like how they drew all the Street Fighter guys and the original characters were also very well drawn.
The sound is great. I prefer the english dub over the japanese voices with subtitling, but thankfully both options are available with this DVD. The opening and closing theme music are great. Street Fighter II V is my favorite martial arts anime. Try to find the box set instead of buying each individual volume though, because you won't want to miss a single episode. This DVD is worth owning.

Getting better.......2005-08-14
I'm still quite surprised at how good this series is. Most shows and movies based on video-games are dreadful but SF II V seems to keep coming up with good stories and features great fight scenes. Even for animation the brawling still packs a punch and the cartoonish nature of the show never imposes on the more serious parts. By this point the story arc is becoming more sophisticated and ends up being rather theatrical. It's great the way they incorporate all the famous SF characters and still manage to give them quality writing.
The DVD has a glitch though. From about the 3rd episode on the English dialogue is roughly 1-second off sync with the mouth movements. I got used to it but it still bugged me to begin with.
street fighter is da bomb.......2002-02-11
from the very begining of the volume 2 I knew it would rock and it did. Street fighter offers a lot for example a it always gave plenty of action. The music was suitable for street fighter and the characters were very cool like vega and his superb entrance to the series. This volume offers a lot when it comes to a dvd, good extras, the quality is worth it, it offers clean picture and smooth sound. In overall I think that this volume is definately da bomb and a must buy.

Many improvements from the last disc..........2002-01-28
Some of the problems that I've been having with the first disc are here on this one, however, most of them are fixed, and the disc is not as glitchy as the other one. Also, the series itself really starts to pick up well, with some important factors...
The storyline also takes a few new interesting twists, but I won't state them here. The character development continues to shine, which is one of this series' shining points. Each of the characters has a separate personality, and it is shown in this disc.
I also noticed a big change in the music. The first volume had all synthesized music running in the background, but the second volume had some new music: all orchestrated. This is a very pleasant change, because now the dramatic scenes are more dramatic, and the battle scenes are more intense without thinking, "Geez, that music sounds so phony..."
However, I still would have liked the original opening theme, "Kaze Fuiteru" instead of the new opening that Manga placed. They even replaced the original Japanese version with this opening. This doesn't really make the series complete if the original opening isn't there...
But anyhow, I think this is a great disc. The plot moves very quickly, and if you're an anime fan who enjoys action-packed battle scenes, great music, and a generally exciting series, then this show is definately for you.
Pretty Entertaining.......2001-04-25
I bought volume #1 to try that out, and even tho I kinda liked it I just was not sure if it was worth purchasing. So I rented vol #2. The storyline picked up and basically all around the episodes got much better. The intro for Sagat and Dalsim were rather interesting, but really got me was the intro for Vega. Now that was pretty slick.
SF II V is not the best anime. I have seen much better. Even tho the music sounds Casio keyboardish, it does get my blood pumping enuff to train while the intro and ending credits are going off. This is really for the Street Fighter fans, I do not think a non-SF fan could like it but I could be wrong. I am biased so it is hard to see the other view. What can I say, I played a lot of SF as a kid. =D
The characters in this series are different than what you see in the movie because quite frankly this is in a time period before the movie. In fact, in this volume Ryu is searching to find out what Hadou (think fireball from the game) is.
I will not say much more than that so I do not ruin the surprise of you seeing the characters for yourself... ...except one more piece =P ...look for the red head in black, heh nice subtle cameo!
