I Love MSM.......2005-07-08

MSM is wonderful for me. I have taken MSM for nearly 2 years now (off and on). I would quit taking it, just to see what would happen. It wouldn't take long before my pain and stiffness would return to my knees. I wouldn't want to go through life without MSM. I am able to go through life without pain in my knees when I take MSM on a regular schedule. I have had no problems taking MSM and I take 12,000 mg. a day. I use a powder MSM that I put in my water, which also encourages me to drink the water I need daily. I even use a MSM soap and lotion for my skin. It has helped my skin alot. I can't say enough good things about MSM. This is the first book I bought about MSM and would recommend it to anyone. I've also read many other papers and articles on MSM, plus I've read alot on the internet about MSM. In fact I've bought this book to give to other people. I am always telling the wonders of MSM to people. I wish you well and happy health.

MSM vs.Allergies.......2003-06-13

I've been trying alot of things against my severe allergies since 1982.Tested in 1972 up-down my back.Nurse left for a min.I Turned Super-Red outside Burning up inside.Doc gave me a big shot of adrenaline.

In the 1990's those symtoms started to come back.On 5-11-2003 i went to Rainbow Grocery store.They sell alot of Herb type items there.I told the lady there i needed something really good for my allergies.She took me over to MSM quickly!

She also showed me the little handbook by Dr.Ley "MSM On our way back to Health With Sulfur".I started with 3 grams on 5-11-03 i now average 20 grams of MSM per day.It really helps w/allergies.
I'm 50 years old.When tested allergic to ALL Molds and Pollens.

Mold is hardest to Beat.MSM is helping against it too.

I've ordered 5 of The Miracle of MSM By Dr Jacob and Dr Lawrence.

Best book on MSM by far ..........2001-09-07

This title by Drs. Jacob and Lawrence is by far the best word on MSM (along with product manufacturers dmso2.com etc).

I, also, prefer the hardback version of this book. It is out of print but I found that it is still available at the distributor (msmsupplement.com as mentioned by someone in another review).

I hope that there is a new, updated version of this book on the horizon, because I know that MSM is helping so many people with a variety of problems (e.g. Arthritis, Allergies, Energy, Joint and Muscle & Nerve Pain, Skin Conditions ...). I even give it to my dogs and cats now!

By the way, Dr. Lawrence (on of the authors) is the doctor of the famous actor James Coburn. Mr. Coburn now attributes his recovery from crippling arthritis pain to benefits derived from MSM.

This book is based upon solid research of a natural substance that is nuturing every living thing. It is found in your own body.

One of the reviews here mentions the name "Bill Rich." Many of the statements about him are true, but he has nothing solid to do with MSM, other than he stumbled upon it and tries to sell it.

This book and Bill Rich should not be mentioned together (forgive me). Mr. Rich does not speak for MSM, anymore than a bad teleevangelist speaks for God.

Extremely practical and useful.......2005-03-03

I bought first edition of this book 7 years ago and have used it A LOT. I just bought the 2005 edition. I am interested in the nanometer CMOS design techniques and "indirect compensation" (how they are getting the ns settling times for the op-amps).

the book contains good overall material , but the design part is totally confusing, the analog design is worst material i have ever studied. the chapters are in hapazard manner, the equations for the circuits appear from nowhere sometimes. this book is good for only a overall view. DO NOT USE THIS BOOK FOR ANY DESIGN REFERENCE . for analog design and CMOS fundamentals use Razavi , which is the best book ever.

Very good reference book on CMOS circuit design.......2003-11-23

This book presents a good overview of CMOS circuits from fundamentals to current design techniques. This book is perfect for a senior-level or graduate-level course as well as for the practicing engineer who wants to come up-to-date quickly with current CMOS circuit design techniques. Some areas where the book could be improved include layout issues, but this does not diminish in any way its usefulness.

A wonderful intro to morality's role in Western Civilization development.......2007-02-08

As an adult student, I feared having to take History 101. It was an online class, and the professor I had was not very good, but this book taught me a lot. The authors emphasize the relationship of ethics and morality with the development of western religions and governments from early Mesopotamia until 1789. For example, it helped me to understand the different viewpoints of the contemporary issues happening in the Middle East (why and how religion serves as a basis for many governments.)

If you are considering taking a History course that uses this textbook, or just want to learn more about how our world's societies have developed, I highly recommend this book. I didn't continue with History 102, but I did buy Volume II of this book series from Perry, et al., to continue my understanding world issues. Please join me!

This book explains real case studies in psych. It made me understand how doctors can change the medications until the patient gets the proper response. This is why it is probably better to see a real psychiatrist who knows the different meds, than to see a general MD.

Great stories and wonderful illustration work.......2005-10-23

This fun little graphic novel is a collection of some twelve short stories and poems that were all written by the greats of modern horror literature - H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Saki (pen name of Hector Hugh Munro), Jack London, and others. Just as heterogeneous as the authors are the illustrators. Each of the stories was illustrated by a different artist, who drew the story as he or she saw fit, each different from the others and each excellent.

Overall, I thought that this was an excellent book, with great stories and wonderful illustration work. I think that my favorites were Lovecraft's The Thing on the Doorstep, W.W. Jacobs' Monkey's Paw, and Clark Ashton Smith's The Beast of Averoigne, with Bret Harte's Selina Sedilia being too funny to miss. Yep, this is a great book, one that my fourteen-year-old daughter and I both enjoyed and both highly recommend!

Horror has done well for the modern incarnation of the Graphic Classics, whose series has seen such luminaries as Bram Stoker, Edgar Allan Poe and HP Lovecraft brought to life by some extremely talented cartoonists. Whether it is the short-story nature, or the ready-made visually splendid imagery, there is something in the classic horror tales thats makes them well suited to the Graphic Classics treatment. Here, in the 10th volume, they have wisely continued this tradition, and assembled an anthology of classic horror stories to chill and delight.

"Horror Classics" brings together 12 authors, some of which, like HP Lovecraft , Jack London and Ambrose Bierce, have been previously honored with their own Graphic Classics collections. Others, like Clark Ashton Smith and Honre de Balzac, appear for the first time. All of the stories are well-chosen, and the artists's styles are well-matched.

This collection contains:

"The Mummy" - Ambrose Bierce - A short and witty poem, with a sharp illustration to match it.

"The Thing at the Doorstep" - HP Lovecraft - A brilliant take on one of my favorite Lovecraft stories. The artist manages to capture the "Innsmouth look" perfectly, and uses the author's original text combined with illustrations to great effect. "glub..glub...glub-glub..." You know what I mean.

"Some Words with a Mummy" - Edgar Allan Poe - A clever and light adaptation of a resurrected mummy bantering with a few scientists over which has the superior society.

"In a Far Off World" - Oliver Schreiner - An excellent, melancholy tale. One I have never read before, but am glad to be introduced to.

"The Thing at Ghent" - Honre de Balzac - Entirely dialog free, I am at a bit of a loss as to the actual story. Unfortunately, it is not such a familiar tale as to be able to divine the story from illustrations alone. The only disappointment in the lot.

"The Monkey's Paw" - WW Jacobs - Any fan of "The Simpsons" will recognize this one, although they may have never seen the original. The artist JW Pierard maintains the full weight of the original cautionary tale. Be careful what you wish for, and don't mess with unfamiliar magiks.

"The Open Window" - Saki - Another familiar tale, one that I have heard told but never knew the origin of. A clever almost-ghost story, well adapted in a simple Victorian style.

"A Day Dream" - Fitz-James O-Brien - Cartoonish musings on murder, and the high class going slumming in the Five Points.

"Keesh Son of Keesh" - Jack London - A dark and powerful tale of barbarian culture and blood-rights amongst the Native American tribes. Ryan Inzana's heavy woodblock illustrations perfectly compliment this heavy story.

"Professor Jonkin's Cannibal Plant" - Howard R. Garis - "Feed me, Seymour!" Another comedic adaptation, featuring a foolish professor and his frightening child.

"The Beast of Averoigne" - Clark Ashton Smith - A contemporary of Lovecraft, this tale of a wild comet, a haunted abbey, and the Ring of Eibon, is adapted with appropriate style.

"Selina Sedilia" - Bret Harte - A humorous look at love ever-after between two base villains. And of course, there is only one way to achieve love "ever-after."

Author Matt Wittenrich is gifted with the patience and rational powers of observation that enable him to capture the important details the need to be reproduced in order for the various species of marine fishes to reproduce themselves. Breeding marine fishes is obviously the author's life's work, and it is truly to his credit that he shares step-by-step instructions from his immense store of knowledge about these fishes that for so long had been considered impossible to breed in the home. Worth reading.......2007-01-09

Clear, concise and enormously useful book. Worth reading if you are in any type of serious relationship or plan to be someday. Dr. Jacobs puts in different light common and destructive misconceptions that, in spite of their romanticism, serve to undermine romance and relationships. I found it somewhat wanting in the chapter on sexuality but superb in a number of others, enough to go on a "must read" list. Buy it or give it to someone you know or love.

I went through a few books on marriage before finding this one. I found "All You Need" to be most practical and not loaded with statistics telling you what you pretty much already know from personal experience. Instead, this book gives it to you straight with both explanations and advice you can apply to your marriage immediately.

I wish I had this book years ago, it explains so much. For example, the author explains that marriages today are heavily influenced and burdened by the outside in. That means that we are stuck in the old roles and expectations of the past even though our culture has changed dramatically. Excellent, common sense points abound throughout the book. This is by far the best book on marriage I have ever read. If you are looking for ways to understand and improve your relationship -married or thinking about getting married- you owe it to yourself to get this book.

Although I think the author is still stuck with a bias in favor of marriage cf. divorce (or non-marriage), he does an excellent job of dismantling the myths about marriage and providing powerful suggestions on addressing the difficulties that those lies were designed to cover up.

Misconceptions and myths about marriage explored.......2005-09-06

Excellent analysis by the author, a professional therapist, of reasons why so many marriages dead end. The book is recommended for all couples especially those contemplating marriage. The author strongly promotes regular negotiations between marriage partners as a formula for long term success. Many of society's myths including "unconditional love" are dispelled while reality checks are recommended.

Enchained is a three author anthology from Ellora's Cave. Though each story is different they are linked together by the overall theme of dominance and submission.

We begin with Ann Jacobs tale, "Mastered", about a prosecuting attorney and a homicide detective. Loosely connected to her "Lawyers in Love" series, Mastered is the story of a woman seeking a new master, a man who can make her find the full depth and breadth of her passion, and the man who reawakens all those desires. It's the tale of unexpected, yet fulfilling love.

Next up, "Choice of Masters" by Joey Hill, a fantasy tale of a woman cursed to never feel pleasure and the man who frees her. This tale focuses on the mental and spiritual, on how true trust can liberate. It is also the only tale in the anthology not connected to series.

Lastly, is Jaid Black's "Death Row: The Mastering". This is futuristic fantasy tale. A widow on her way to earth to visit her daughter is kidnapped by a devolved man. This man dominating her body and her will until all she wants is to please him, much to her confusion.

While I greatly enjoyed all three stories, I have to admit to not being able to fully appreciate the nuances of Jaid's tale. Not having read the Death Row serial, I was lost on some of the customs that she mentioned only in passing as if the reader was expected to already know everything. Other than that single drawback, I loved the stories, especially Joey Hill's. This anthology is a good introduction to each author's style as well as an entertaining read.
